Thursday Doors is a photography challenge hosted by Dan Antion, who blogs at No Facilities.
The whole Thursday Doors thing is about sharing pictures of doors that catch your eye. Loads of bloggers get involved each week and give a shoutout to Dan’s post. Dan also encourages everyone to check out each other’s door pictures and drop a comment.
I’ve participated in Thursday Doors in the past. It’s great fun, and although there is no pressure to participate every week, you’ll find Dan has built up a great Thursday Doors community.
Here’s my first entry for 2024.
If I told you I was gifting you one of these beach huts, which one would you choose?
Check out this week’s Thursday Doors over on Dan’s Blog.
Thanks to Dan for hosting Thursday Doors.
Don’t miss out!

Sorry I’m late to the party, Hugh! Lovely beach hut doors in every color! And its a great photo showing perspective. Thanks for the reminder that Dan is hosting. I’ll have to check my archived for any doors lurking there 😄
No worries, Terri. Nobody is ever late to the party at Hugh’s Views And News. If the comments section is still open, I still welcome comments.
These colourful beach huts always make me smile when I see them, but you would not believe how much they cost to buy.
Thursday Doors is a blogging challenge I need to get back into.
I love the beach doors. They take me back to when I lived in Florida where I spent many summers in Daytona Beach. The pink striped door is my favorite.
I’m glad they bought back some lovely memories, Eugi.
Thank you for sharing them, Hugh.
I love these colorful beach huts, Hugh. If I had to choose one, I think I’d choose the blue one.
It’s yours, Jan.
Hi Hugh that’s a beautifully colourful photo makes me feel warm, which I am not! I would love the one with purple door please . ( The third one in) 💜💜💜
It’s yours, Willow. I think anything to do with the seaside or the beach gives it a warm feel, even on rainy days.
I love the beach Hugh even in a storm 💜💜
I like these doors, and I’ve been following Dan for a long time. Now which hut would I pick? Probably the yellow one further down the row.
Thank you, Jennie. Yes, I’ve been following Dan’s blog for many years too. In fact, I think his blog is one of the blogs I have followed for the longest.
Me, too! His Thursday’s Doors and Saturdays at the bar are my favorites. I was lucky that he visited my classroom.
I would be happy to have any of these beach huts. Are they in Hove by any chance?!
I’m impressed. They are. How did you guess their location correctly?
I love Brighton and Hove and live relatively close. I often walk past the huts and think what fun it would be to have one. However, at about £30.000 each I think that’s unlikely!!
I could not believe the cost of them. When I live in Hove, they rarely came up for sale. But when they did, they sold straight away.
Are they really beach huts or doors to another world?
I did see some with the doors open, and all seemed fine. However, who knows where the door at the back of the huts leads.
Looking at this huts lifts the mood instantly. I did not mind any of these, regardless of the color.
That good to hear about ‘lifting the mood,’ Erika. I guess that’s to do with all the bright colours?
For sure the colors but also the presumption that there is the sea near by. The picture spreads this vacation feeling.
One of the reasons why I have lived by the sea for the last 10 years, Erika.
I totally understand you, Hugh! Wonderful!
I love Thursday Doors, and your photo, too! I would pick the yellow striped one! 🌷🌺
That seems a popular choice. I like the striped doors too.
I love the beach huts, Hugh but I think my favourite is the view through the stone arch.
That stone arch is the ‘Thursday Doors’ image, Cathy. Sadly, nothing to do with me. But it is a beautiful view.
I like the yellow striped one – it stands out so I wouldn’t forget which one was mine when I came back from swimming!
Phew! I’m glad you said swimming. As I can’t swim, I’d have to say ‘when I came back from an afternoon that included too much red wine.’
That’s OK too. Too much red wine might leave you seeing double stripes! You need to learn to swim. You are NEVER too old.
Believe me, I’ve tried, Noelle. I’m not confident in or on water. My father could not swim either and had the same fear of the water as I do.
If you were my neighbor, I’d teach you and also get rid of that fear. Both my kids were swimming by the time they were 18 months old Real water babies.
My Great-Niece is also a water baby. She started swimming lessons when she was two and loves the water. She’s now nearly six and tells me she is going to swim for Great Britain at the 2032 Olympics.
Wow, good for her to have that dream. I hope she achieves her goal.
I love these doors, Hugh. We have a photo in our family room of beach huts. It was a gift from a friend in Ipswich but I don’t remember exactly where the huts were.
Thanks for the shoutout, and I hope you will be able to join us during the writing challenge.
PS, I’ll take the first solid blue one, moving to the right.
Beach huts seem popular subjects of photos and pictures, Dan. I put that down to their colourful doors. I couldn’t believe the prices of the ones in my photo. Yet, they seem very popular to own.
The blue one is yours!
Thanks!
How fun! I would love the orange door, and thank you. Does it come with a beach or do I have to go out and find that for myself? Not that I’m lazy, just that Kentucky doesn’t have a lot of beaches.
These all come with a beach that is a few steps in front of them. However, it’s a pebble, rather than a sandy, beach. The orange one is yours!
Aw, thank you. I love orange, and really don’t mind pebbles. Sand as a habit of seeping into my clothes and becoming uncomfortable, and being a country gal, I’m used to walking barefoot on gravel, which is rather pointy the pebbles would be nicer.
I know what you mean. I hate the feel of sand between my toes, or any sand that sticks to bare skin. And if I get into bed and can feel sand, I have to strip the bed and get fresh bedding.
While I like the one with the pink stripes, I would always pick something at the beginning or end of the line, to have only one neighbor and therefore more privacy. 🙂
That’s a great thought, Liesbet. I don’t think anybody gets much privacy in these beach huts, though.
I’ll have the purple door please. Thanks! Nice to see you on Thursday doors, It’s so much fun.
I checked, and it was 2021 when I last participated. But it’s good to be back, thanks, Darlene.
I’d choose the one who’s the most “hot pink” colored.
There were plenty pink coloured ones along that seafront. Great choice.
Thank you. Yeah I saw that 😍😃
