      The fediverse is a decentralised network of independent, interconnected servers that communicate using common protocols like ActivityPub, allowing users on different platforms (e.g., Mastodon, PeerTube, Pixelfed, Threads) to interact with each other. It offers an open-source, ad-free, and user-controlled alternative to centralised social media. It’s the place to be if you no longer want to follow those social media platforms owned by millionaires who don’t care about anything or anyone apart rom themselves.

It allows users on different platforms, such as Mastodon or PixelFed, to interact, creating a social media alternative not controlled by a single company. It’s a great way of ditching the social media companies run by those you no longer trust.

            I have a very strict policy with social media. I limit my time on it to no more than 30 minutes a day. Once that time is up, I’m out of there. Some days, I don’t even visit.
