    1. The pickled cucumbers added lovely texture and taste to the fishcake, Terri. It’s one of the best starters I’ve ordered.
The picture was taken on my new iPhone 16 Plus. I’m delighted with its performance.

  1. I was going to guess crab cake, but then I read in the comments that it was a fish cake. Looks delicious, but my first thought was “This would not fill me up!” Then, again, it seems like this was not your main course. All I know now is that I’m hungry and food is hard to find in my current surroundings.

    1. This was my starter, Liesbet. I’m not usually a ‘starter’ person, preferring a main course and dessert, but the fishcake was too tempting. I’m glad I took the plunge, though.

I hope you find/found something delicious to eat. I’m guessing all the Belgian chocolate has gone?

      1. Not yet! Believe it or not. I/we can be very careful and disciplined when it comes to savoring treats. :) I expect the rest of our chocolate (including one box of truffles) to last until the end of the year. Maybe I should save the Belgian truffles for Christmas? Or my birthday, the end of this month…

        1. Yes, that sounds like a great idea. I do not know what Argentinian chocolate is like, but celebrating your birthday and Christmas with chocolate you know and love is a great idea. I hope at least a few glasses of wine are planned for those days, too.

  2. Well it certainly looks chunkier and more satisfying than the fishcakes I get from Aldi. But then I can’t look at yours and wonder where the chips are…

I bet you enjoyed though – very cordon bleu, Hugh.

    1. Yes, you’re right about the fishcake, Cathy. It was a spicy avocado dressing that the fishcake was served on, with pickled cucumbers on top. Mouthwatering and delicious.
