  1. A beautiful home, Hugh! I could have never guessed but since I showed up to the party late, I see it was Agatha Christie’s home. Must have been interesting to walk through and wonder what inspiration she drew from the inside.

    1. It was, Terri. But she also went to the nearby Burgh Island hotel to write where she found a lot of inspiration. When we visited the area, only guests were allowed into the hotel grounds, so we couldn’t go in to take a look around. But I get that. I wouldn’t want hoards of tourist disturbing the hotel I was taking a relaxing holiday at.

    1. Did you enjoy your visit? I found it amazing that I was treading the same floorboards as Agatha Christie once did. And too see lots of her possessions too. I also enjoyed looking at the family photos that were scattered around the house.

      1. I did Hugh. The murals in the drawing room painted by the service people who stayed there during WW2 were astonishing and I loved the fact that Christie insisted they remain.

      1. I’m hoping to catch them fledging. I’ve never been lucky enough so far, but it’s lovely to see them around the garden.

        1. I bet. We have lots of Blue Tits flying around our garden, but also Robins. So I’m unsure who it is that has taken up residence in the birdbox.

        2. If it’s a similar type to mine it’s more likely to be blue tits. I believe robins like a bigger opening.

  2. My first thought was Wordsworth, but those trellises look to be fairly new and not yet grown-over, so maybe a renovation?

    1. The house is no longer lived in but open to the public to have a look around. However, most of the writer’s items who live there are still there. A fascinating place, not Wordsworth, I’m afraid.
