  1. Fun discussion, Hugh and a great picture. I guessed wrong, but without enlarging it on my computer, it’s impossible to see the face of the right one. That was a huge gathering. We didn’t have any of those in my family historical pictures, so this was fun. :)

    1. A lot of people got it wrong, so I was delighted when somebody finally found that guy, Marsha. He was looking straight at me as if he knew I was taking that shot even though I must have appeared as a tiny dot from where he was sitting.

The photo was taken in a theatre that sits over 1.000 people. That particular night we saw ‘The Jersey Boys.’ Great music and a great show.

    1. Glad you guessed right, Eugi. Yes, an aunt give me this photo a few years ago. Sadly she is no longer with us, but I’m glad I found out that it contained my Grandfather.

  2. The formidable behatted lady one in from the right. Clearly still in disguise from his SOE exploits but even black and white can’t hide that mischievous Roberts twinkle

    1. You should be able to see details of the occasion as the caption under the photo, Terri. Please do let me know if it’s not showing on the post.
Yes, my grandfather looked very much like my father, but both had black hair. However, one of my father’s sisters was a redhead.

      1. I didn’t want to look at what others had guessed, so I didn’t know if I was right until your comment! Thank you, Hugh, and what a fantastic picture! Cher xoxoxo
