it is 28 October and I am still prepping. I put up the outside lights and this evening I worked on the treats: penny sweets in plastic cauldrons and ghost bags for the bigger ones. The “A” list get Charms and Chuckles tied in orange purple and black pipe cleaners. More to go !
Wow! I wish I was trick or treating at your house. I just pour a load of chocolates into a bowl and let the visitors help themselves. I’ve plenty in so as not to run out of treats. And any leftover I get to eat.
Such adorable ghost lights!
Thank you.
I am always ready but only now getting out the major decorations. The ocotillo is bedecked with little plastic pumpkins
Did you put those pumpkins up in the windows of the top floor?
When my sons were young, I enjoyed Halloween, but now I can take it or leave it. I have noticed that in France, it is becoming increasingly popular and commercial.
I love fairy lights so I think your ghostly lights are fabulous!
Yes, Halloween has become more popular and commercial in the UK, June. It produces a lot of money for the economy, so that can’t be bad.
I’m glad you like my ghost lights. They are battery-operated and still working after three years.
I love Halloween, Hugh. We get a few trick-or-treaters but not overwhelming. I love your blue ghost lights. 👻
I’m glad you like them, Eugi. I may be in my 60s, but I’m still a Halloween kid at heart.
We live in an over 55 community so Halloween is not a big deal, but it was when my kids were young. Lots of waffling over costumes, which I ended up making! Love the little ghosts!
I bet it was fun making Halloween costumes. The shops seem full of readymade ones these days, but that takes the fun out of making your own. I used to put on a white shirt, bowtie, and black trousers and cover the shirt in fake blood, as well as put some coming out of my mouth.
Ugh, but effective. Our kids went as witches, ghosts, cowboys, princesses, grasshoppers (this one was hard to make). Sometimes I would roam the Salvation Army store for something I could re-make. Saved on buying fabric.
Cute string of ghosts, Hugh! I also have a few decorations up. We don’t see trick or treaters here so Hans and I will enjoy the decorations alone.
I’m sure you’ll enjoy those decorations, Terri. I put a few Halloween decorations up inside the house every year, although nobody from outside may see them. I think it all adds to the fun.
I love Halloween and am enjoying the various displays around our neighborhood. Here in the southwestern part of the US, we also have Dia de los Muertos to celebrate and decorate for. Fun times!
I had to look it up, but I have heard of ‘Day of the Dead.’ I think it featured in the opening of one of the more recent James Bond movies.
Enjoy the celebrations, Janis.
I’ve never actually seen a ghost but I have felt something eerie and heard things. Cute little ghosties! I am an autumn person so I love everything about the season.
Same here, I love autumn. I don’t think I’ve encountered anything paranormal, but I’m not 100% sure.
Not a Halloween person, did not grow up with it and only got fully introduced to it when we arrived in Canada. Some people go totally overboard, but love those ghost lights
My contribution this week, Diehard Flowers and I invite all to come and share your WW at ES #49 WW
Thank you. Halloween isn’t as big a holiday here in the UK as in the USA. But it seems to have grown in popularity over the years.
Thanks so much for participating and sharing your post at #49 #WW (Words welcome). See you Wednesday at #50
Happy Halloween! Love the lights.
Thank you. Just wait until you see next week’s lights!
Happy Halloween.
Oh, I adore these lights, Hugh! I cannot say that I have seen more than one ghost at a time until your photo! Cher xoxoxo
Glad you like them, Cher. They’re battery-operated and have worked for the past three years. I got my money’s worth from them.
That’s for sure, Hugh! I do love ghosts (no surprise there, of course!) LOL Cher xoxoxo
Cool ghost lights! :)
Thank you. Glad you like them.
You’re welcome :)

Nope but I love your photo ….pretty blue ghosts 💜💜
Aren’t they great? These battery-operated lights are now three years old, so I’ve had my money’s worth from them, Willow.
