Summer 2024 was the coolest in Wales since 2015. But I’m not complaining. Autumn is here.

We just got back home yesterday after an exhausting 11 days encircling Scotland. I barely had time to think!

No, no, no… it is too early for me to see this. Unfortunately, since Sunday it seems that summer handed the steering whell over to fall.
Autumn is my favourite time of the year, Erika. I’m looking forward to the display of colours that already seem to be on their way.
To be hones, I like fall a lot, but only when I made it to accept that summer is over… lol. Unfortunately, over here summer turned almost instantly into winter. The temps dropped 25° down within two days and we have had snow up to higher valleys. It seems next week the weather begins to balance again.
Yes, so I hear. Summer is expected to return again next week, and it will certainly melt the snow that has already fallen on the tops of the mountains.

How lovely! We’re getting the heavy dew and fog the last few mornings, too. This is such a moody shot. I like the hazy color of the tree.
As you know, I love this time of the year, Colleen. And it seems to have arrived earlier this year.
Same here, Hugh. Our pear tree out front has one lone red-leafed limb. LOL!
Getting cool in the mornings there also I see. It gets so thick here sometimes that it’s really eerie.
Which makes for some great storytelling.
A beautiful misty, moisty morning, Hugh! Looks cool and comfy. We’re driving over to Coeur d’Alene Idaho for the day where it will be 65F for the high temperature. Monday here was 93F. I’ll take it.
We didn’t reach 93F all summer, Terri. And today, it’s only 59F, with a low of 43F tonight. Enjoy your day out.
Wow, Hugh, I’m not surprised it doesn’t get that hot there. But we had too many days of 90+ and a few of 100s that I can do without!
This is one thing we haven’t had today, Hugh. Rain, wind, sun and hail…but no mist.
This was taken over the weekend, Cathy. It’s been a lovely sunny day here in Swansea today, although it’s only 15c.
Slowly, but extremely slowly it’s starting to become fall where I live. I hate it of course, but it’s still pretty green and that’s good. We’ve had a heatwave until now and now it’s a lot cooler. I’m gonna miss wearing my shorts and t-shirt when it’s too cold for that.
Autumn is my favourite season, so I’m happy to see the first signs of it. I love all the freshness it brings. I can sleep better at night.
I’m glad you enjoy it. Many people love the fall for those reasons.

yes, the leaves are slowly starting to change and the nights are cool again
The nights are certainly getting cooler, Beth. Tomorrow night, we have our first frost of the season forecasted.
I loved the photo! Fall is my favorite time of year where I live as the temperature is cooler and the humidity goes away. On my walk the other day, I noticed no leaves changing as of yet, but their green color seemed a bit different.
I love this time of year when Autumn arrives, Michael. It’s always lovely to see the leaves beginning to change colour, even though the autumn equinox is officially not until September 22nd in the Northern Hemisphere.
