This is such a cool picture, Hugh. I also love that you give a bit more information about Wordless Wednesday. Little hints fun, too. Great post, Hugh.
Thank you. I’m glad you think the picture in this post is cool. Marsha. As soon as I saw the reflection, I had to take a picture of it.
I’m glad you did. So often we miss the chance. That was a perfect shot! :)
What is the reflection of Hugh? I am blind, so cannot see it, and need a bit more info!
Hi Carol anne, I always add the description of photos and images to the Alt-Text box on my posts. My understanding is that it helps those with a sight impediment. I’m sorry it hasn’t worked. However, the description for this Wordless Wednesday photos is ‘Photo of a kitchen window with a vase of sunflowers and other objects being reflected back on a dark surface.’ I hope that helps.
That’s a very cool reflection, Hugh. When I saw your blog post in my inbox, I thought it would be a photo of a reflection in water. My most recent reflective photo was of the dome of an old church reflected into the window of a modern high rise building in Salta, Argentina. :)
Thank you, Liesbet. I’ve got lots of photos of reflections in water, but the reflection in this post went straight to the top of my favourites when I saw it. The reflection you described sounds amazing. I hope to see it in one of your upcoming posts.
That is a gorgeous photo, Hugh. A double shot of pure beauty.
I’m glad you like it, Eugi. I’m rather proud of it.
And, you should be proud of it, Hugh. 😉
That is a fantastic reflection, The colors are so vivid and bright as if a window has appeared in the gleaming tabletop. I love trying to take photos that show reflections. Among my favorites which I took on the street I used to live on in Riga, Latvia was during the winter and in a partially melted puddle made from snow you could clearly see the house that stood right nearby.
Thank you.
I’m a keen photographer of reflections, too. I find them fascinating – almost like a glimpse into another parallel world. Please feel free to share a photo of your favourite reflection.
This could make my favorite reflection too… it is a dream how clean this is!
My kitchen or the reflection? Or maybe both? Thanks for the thumbs up, Erika.
Actually both: The shiny clean kitchen 😄
Love that splash of yellow!
Yes, it adds some dimension to the reflection doesn’t it?
What a fabulous reflection, Hugh. Even without the pop of yellow flowers, the reflection is perfect. That is one clean dining table or counter (?)
The reflection is on a cooking hob, Terri. It’s a shinny black, so is great for picking up reflections from that window.
This is amazing Hugh I love it and on our recent walk we managed to get some great shots. I intend to share some soon. My entry this week. Dragonflies
Hope to also see you over at #18 Wordless (words welcome)
I look forward to seeing those photos you took, Esme. I’m guessing they are of reflections?
I’ll check out your entry soon. Do you get damselflies as well as dragonflies where you live?
Yes its reflections that I will be sharing soon. Thanks for visiting my end Hugh
Hugh, Yes we do, but I am not the smart to distinguish them. Thanks so much for participating and sharing at #18 InLinkz #WordlessWednesday (Words are also welcome). See you again next week!
What a beautiful kitchen you have, Hugh. That’s the one thing I miss, a window over the sink. We have an opening that looks out into our living room.
That window only looks over to a fence, but we have some climbing plants on it that flower for most of the year apart from the winter months, Colleen. I can see the sky above the fence though.
Hugh I do love this photo , I have some reflective photos of our kitchen too … Sometimes the reflections are so clear.
I also have some lovely reflections in water and puddles 💜💜
Reflections are so fascinating, Willow. I’m sure that some of them give us glimpses into parallel worlds. But be careful, as you may fall in.
Yes indeed Hugh and would we ever get out again 💜💜💜
Who knows? I wonder if anyone has ever fallen into a reflection. I’m sure they have.
That’s a scary thought Hugh and definitely one for your amazing stories 😁
I did write one for the Story Chat feature called ‘Puddles’ that hints about somebody being pushed into a puddle. Read it at your own peril, though.
Thank you Hugh I will ….with my fingers crossed behind my back !!
this is lovely
Thank you, but what makes you say it’s lovely? What’s your favourite part of the photo?
I was most impressed with the fact that the reflection so perfectly mirrored the original vision AND that the yellow of the flowers is so attention-grabbing!
Yes, those yellow sunflowers certainly give the reflection a kick, don’t they? That’s what I liked best about the reflection I was witnessing when taking the photo.
I love reflections, Hugh, and I feature them often on my blog. I’m not sure I could choose a favorite. This one that you’ve shared here is very pretty. I like it a lot.
Same here, Dan. I love reflections and find them fascinating. It’s like having a glimpse into a parallel world. Glad you like this one.
Nice effects
Why did you say that? What makes them nice effects? Is it a particular item or is it the light in the photo. Feedback is great for authors and photographers when leaving comments. The more the better. Thank you.
