      1. I was watching a “bird’s eye view” of a man who parachuted into the Indy 500 a few weeks ago. There was quite a big crowd and he had a GoPro on his helmet and jumped out, we saw the parachute unfurl and he landed in the middle of the oval … nerves of steel!

  1. Wow, can’t help but wonder what it must feel like up there. Which is the mark of a good photograph of course, to make you wonder.

  2. What a cool shot of the paraglider, Hugh–now that is a great way to enjoy the great outdoors! It almost looks like a dragonfly! 15 years ago, I would have totally gone paragliding. At Lake Tahoe, they tow paragliders from boats on the lake. My ex-husband used to hang glide.

    1. I’ve seen paragliders being pulled by boats here in the bay, Terri. The one in this photo took off from the top of a mountain and landed in a meadow. He was up there for at least 40 minutes. The way he controlled the glider was amazing. His journey down looked well-controlled and professional. He landed safely exactly on the spot marked out to land.

  3. Great shot, Hugh. That was me a few months ago in Colombia, but without the blue skies. I love blue skies and can’t wait to get to a place/country where they are more common again.

Have you ever gone paragliding? (I surely could not think about the past tense of to paraglide! Paraglid? Paraglided? Have you ever paraglided?)

    1. No, I’d never do anything like paragliding, Liesbet. I’m too afraid of heights, unless I’m in a tall building with glass and something to hold on to protecting me from falling off the edge. I’d rather ride a rollercoaster.
