  1. It looks natural and much nicer than the weeds in my backyard which, thanks to heat, humidity and lots of rain are overtaking my yard (and maybe me too)! :)

      1. Very futuristic. Not my car – just saw it when it filled up with gas when I went shopping and had to snap a picture. I for sure do not have the funds to buy such a car, and even if I had, I can think of a lot of other things that’s more useful to me.

        1. Given its looks, I thought it may have been an electric or hydrogen car. What a shame to hear it was filling up with petrol. I’m sure an electric and hydrogen version will follow.

  2. Nature always has her day, Hugh. This is a beautiful example. And try as I might, the weeds on our property are winning this year!

Years ago I watched a movie, The Happening, by M. Knight Shyamalon (sp?), who’s known for his subtle horror films. In this one, nature was taking back her glory by creating an insidious wind that caused humans to kill themselves in creative and disturbing ways.

Hopefully your weedy fence is being kind. Happy Wednesday!

    1. That’s not a movie I’ve seen, Terri. I thought I had, but when I checked out the details, I was getting it mixed up with the movie ‘Knowing’, which has nothing to do with Mother Nature and plants, so I don’t know why *sigh*.

The driveway to the house where this gate belongs was just as bad. The plants are coming up through the concrete, so I don’t know how long it’ll be before Mother Nature claims the house. But the old car on the drive is next in line.

  3. Signs of nature fighting back?
Nah, it’s more like nature saw the absence of the “keep out” sign, laughed, and decided to crash the party, anyway!
It’s not a battle; it’s more like nature’s casual Sunday stroll right through the so-called boundaries, with wildflowers and vines doing the cha-cha all over that ancient fence.😂😃🤣 And nature doesn’t care!

    1. That’s a lovely way of putting it. I don’t think it will be long before the owner of this gate can no longer find it. At least it’s in the ‘open’ position.

  4. Hugh, that is a pretty picture. I read what Liesbet wrote and agree. I’ve never heard of the movie you mentioned “The Day of The Triffids” but you’ve got my curiosity.

We used to live in SE Florida (now we are in central FL) and when we bought our last home there it was ALL woods around us and we were a 2 minute walk to a beautiful wooded park with trails. We were told when we bought our home that it was on an easement behind us and it would never be built on. One day, a couple years later I came home from work to find all the trees behind us torn down, except for one lone palm tree. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. All for a home to be put up behind us with a BIG back yard, with one palm tree. My first thought was I felt so bad for the trees and the animals in those woods that relied on that growth.

    1. Do check the movie out, Lea. It’s a British sci-fi movie from 1963 and is one of my all-time favourite movies.

What a shock that must have been for you. I’d have been just as sad as you if I’d come home to the same scene. Humans have so much to answer for in the destruction we continue to do to our planet. I hope Mother Nature takes her revenge one day. I’m sure she is planning it.

      1. Well let’s just say with all the rain we’ve been having it’s been a one-sided battle. But now the sun has arrived, so time for me to fight back!

  5. I have seen many signs of nature fighting back, Hugh. And I’m glad she does. Us, humans, are not treating her with the respect she deserves, so it’s no surprise she can be angry and claim back what’s hers. And, to be honest, until we wisen up and take care of our environment, I support Mother Nature being in charge and taking over.

        1. It’s a British sci-fi movie from 1963, Liesbet. Still one of my all-time favourites. And it is much better than the many remakes of the book by the same title.
