Wordless Wednesday – No words, just pictures. Allow your photo(s) to tell the story.

Photo of three metal mushrooms which have a lot of rust of them.
Would you paint these, or is rust a sign of beauty?

I would paint them! Well I can’t actually see the photo as I am blind, but to me if there is rust on something then I would think it would look like an eyesore!

Thanks for joining in, Carol anne. There’s been a great debate here as to what people would do with these items.

I’m still trying to figure out what they were. Definitely, as the majority have said, leave them natural.

They are some handmade mushrooms made out of metal. Could be very old.

Yes, leave them natural – they look better in the garden area that way!

That seems a popular choice with readers, Linda.

Yes, the rustic, rusted look is nice Hugh!

I would leave them in their natural state. Rustic pieces are very popular and more interesting. We used to go antiquing and saw many rusted items and they were asking a fortune for them.

I can only imagine they must have been very old and perhaps rare. I don’t think these mushrooms are rare or worth very much though as they were on full display without any security, but they do look nice as they are.

Reminds of the idiom – “one mans junk is another mans treasure.”

No, I wouldn’t paint them. They look more natural rusted and will look lovely in the garden. They sell a lot of rusted pieces for garden art in my neck of the woods. Visiting from Wordless Wednesday.

Thanks for joining the conversation, Amy. Natural rust seems to be a popular choice now.

I love them as they are Hugh. Lots of character. But I was also attracted to them simply because they’re mushrooms – I really loved them.

Thanks, Brenda. I’m not a fan of mushrooms when they have been fried, but these look beautiful as they are.

I think theyre my favourite food 😋

These are beautiful just the way they are.

      I’m glad you think so.
