Hello Kitty. I didn’t know you could fly an aeroplane.

  1. Thanks Hugh, sorry for being so very late, but its been a full week of fun and celebrations (Not US Thanksgiving as I am in Canada) but lots of other stuff to be thankful for so only catching up late on Sunday evening.
Thanks for sharing your link over at https://esmesalon.com/tag/wordlesswednesday/
    See you again on Wednesday

  2. Heh heh. I’ve always watched the Macie’s Parade only to watch those large balloons blow away.. What can I say, stupidity can sometimes be a fun thing to watch.

  3. I remember the Hello Kitty phase well – I think it was the mid eighties – along with Chia pets and all kinds of odd things. I worked in San Fran and you couldn’t go into Japan Town or Chinatown without being assailed by a whole universe of the Hello Kitties ….

        1. Wow! That sounds like a great parade. London has a New Year’s Day parade too, although I don’t think it’s as spectacular as the Thanksgiving one.

    1. Yes, we don’t have anything like this in the UK, apart from the New Year’s Day parade in London. But it’s not as grand and as big as the Thanksgiving Day parade in New York.

      1. We used to gather around the TV on Thanksgiving morning to watch the Macy’s Day Parade. Our high school band marched in it one year. It was a very big deal.

        1. Were you in the band, Dan?

I’d heard about the Thanksgiving parade many years ago, and always wanted to see it for real. When I had the chance to do so, not even the cold weather and sleet that day could stop me from standing for what seemed like for many hours watching the parade.
