Interesting – it’s true that art and beauty is in eye of beholder.
I agree with that quote.
Sorry Hugh To Me This is to be thrown away. But I do stress Me 🤣😎🙃
You’re not the only one to sat that. Quite a few have.
Indeed a dust catcher, Hugh. I agree with, Terri and add some colored wax to give it more pizzaz. If it were on sale, I wouldn’t buy it.
Same here, Eugi. I wouldn’t buy it if I saw it on sale.
Hmm that’s a tricky one. I love how the wax looks like snow, however, I’m not sure I could look at that for too long, I don’t think I have OCD but I think I would go insane looking at it for a long time haha.
Lol, I think this candlestick would drive you crazy if it were in your house, Wayne.
I think you’re right Hugh.
Hmmm… interesting, but I wouldn’t want it in my house. All I can see is a big dust catcher. I guess you could just rinse it off and let it air dry. :)
Not a lot of people are fans of this candlestick because of the dust trap. I think you’d have to clean it everyday to stop any build up of dust and dirt.
Doesn’t strike me as art – just an overused candle stand! But then anything can be art these days!
I agree. I’ve seen piles of dirty laundry considered as works of art. Sometimes, it seems it’s down to whoever created them.
True!
Depends on if its done by a famous artist or not 😀. I have seen “art installations” which a normal person would just throw in trash..actually even proper trash has been an art installation! So..
But then art is subjective🙂.
My entry here:
Yes, I’ve seen the same. There was a famous ‘unmade bed’ that became a work of art back in the 1980s. And even today, a few bricks piled up on top of each other can be considered a work of art.
Look up the story behind “ist das kunst oder kann das weg” – a very funny German saying meaning “is this art or can it be thrown away” 😉. Hint – Joseph Beuys, Fettecke.
Thank you. I will.
Hmmm, I’m in the campus of keeping dust off it, Hugh. It’s intriguing with the years of wax build up. I would change the candles to add more layers of colored wax. Fun post!
That sounds like a great idea with different coloured candles, Terri. A splash of colour can make all the difference.
Totally off track, or maybe because I’d been reading something else, but I thought of witch trials and burning 🔥 🤔
Given the season, I can see why, Brenda. Hope you had a Happy Halloween.
A quiet, relaxing one. How was yours?
Busy with trick-or-treaters. I got through a whole stash of chocolate, but it was fun.
One of my colleagues told me she’d made up 150 bags of treats for the guisers (what we traditionally call trick or treating in Scotland)
I just put all the chocolate in a plastic tub and let them help themselves. there were certainly more callers than I thought given it was raining.
The weather has been terrible
That would give me hours of pleasure while picking the wax off 😉 💜💜💜
A bit like popping bubblewrap? Or is picking wax much better?
Both are very satisfying Hugh 😉😛😉💕💜
That has definitely seen a lot of candles! I like it.
Here’s my Wordless Wednesday…
I’m glad you like it, Cathy. I’m not sure if those candles were very long, or if all that wax has come from several candles over time.
If that’s art, its not my type of art as all I see for that in the future would be a HUGE dust trap.
Please do not forget to come and share your #WW entries at the new linkup as well. Would love to have you there and also invite all your followers
My entry for today: https://esmesalon.com/wooden-or-real/
All that wax would certainly attract dust and dirt, so It would have to be cleaned every day, Esme.
I left a comment over on your post, but not sure if it went through. Also, please feel free to leave a link to the linkup, as I was not sure where it was.
Hi Hugh. Your comment did come through, thanks and the #WW linkup now open

Well. Someone couldn’t be bothered to clean the candle stick holder!
True. It seems it was a heavy Halloween night.
I could see some might think this could be a piece of art (or a collection of memories), but I would throw it out and start anew. :)
I like your way of thinking, Liesbet. But I love the thought of it being a collection of memories.
Art of course!
If you say so.
