Thanks, Esme. That’s great news.
I’ve seen similar photos in Derrick Knight’s blog, and they are delightful! Those who create them are very talented.
I agree, Eugi. I’ve never tried knitting. I would not know where to start.
Very crafty :)
Thank you.
I’ve never seen postbox toppers before. I must be living in the wrong place
I see quite a lot of them, Brenda. This one near where I live, but not all postboxes have them.
I have a postbox outside my door, but as I say, never seen this. Maybe the downside of city living – no sense of community
I live in a city too, although on the outskirts, rather than in the centre. It may be all down to who is around to make these postbox toppers, Brenda. I have seen them in other towns and cities too. There was a label attached to this topper that said it had been made to cheer people up and to please not remove it. Thankfully, nobody has ever stolen or removed the toppers I’ve seen on this postbox.
Thats great Hugh. 😁
Such cute Halloween decorations made with love.
Yes, a lot of love and hard work go into making these postbox toppers, Erika. The creator is very talented.
Talented and probably loves bringing joy to others. Thanks for sharing. It is an example for us to follow in our own way.
Well, that’s very creative. Better hide this from the girlfriend because I’ll never see her until she had hundreds of those made up before Halloween, LOL!
I too have a Halloween themed Wordless Wednesday today featuring my dog Katie,

Yes, I think a lot of work went into making these postbox toppers. This postbox has a different topper for every season.
You Wordless Wednesday post in very cute! I love it. never seen the movie, though.
So cute 🥰!
My entry here
Thanks!
Delightful yarn ghost, pumpkins, spider and other creatures, Great craft idea,
Yes, I think a lot of work goes into making these. They certainly put a smile on your face when you see them.
Great captures of Halloween yarn projects, Hugh! Oh, and they are on top of mailboxes? Someone is very talented!
Yes, postboxes where people post their mail to be collected by the Post Office for delivery, Terri. These postbox toppers started around the time of the pandemic. I’m glad they stayed.
Oh I see! What a great idea!
I am not a fan of Halloween, but these are so cute and I just love it.
Come and check out a new opportunity to link up as I would love to have you share your WW links with us. All your awesome readers and participants here are also invited.

Thanks for the invite to your new linkup, Esme. I’ve just left a link.
I’ve always enjoyed Halloween, especially as a child when we played ducking apples and apple-on-a-string on Halloween night. Always great fun and plenty of laughs on those nights. These days, it seems to be more about trick-and-treating.
Love the spiders! At first, I thought the white thing was a dragon head, but I see it can be a ghost!
Well, I only think it is a ghost because there were others around the other side that looked more ghosts.
The spiders are quite funny.
I love seeing yarn bombing decorating objects. We don’t see it so much here but it was always around in Conwy. So talented.
This particular postbox has one of these toppers on all year round, Cathy. I’ve never seen anyone remove or put one on. So the artist is a mystery.
I guess it changes with the seasons too. How lovely :)
It does. Bonfire Night will feature next, before a Christmas topper arrives in early December.
That’s brilliant!
At first I thought it was a ghost alongside the pumpkins. However, I’m not so sure now, Hugh!
I cannot believe I have not taken you up on your extremely generous #WordlessWednesday until now. Thank you so much, Hugh!
Here is today’s #WordlessWednesday of a photo recently taken in downtown Chicago and includes skyscrapers and the Chicago River (at dawn) – https://wp.me/p4doQv-2xl
Hi Cher, I think it is a ghost, but it got rather spoilt by all the rain we’ve had. Ghosts do not like getting wet. Give them all umbrellas, I say.
Thank you so much for your link. And Happy Halloween 🎃.
LOL I think that is a perfect solution, Hugh! LOL
Thank you so much for allowing me to include my link. I appreciate it a lot! Happy Halloween to you, too, Hugh! Cher xoxoxo
Thanks, Hugh, for the opportunity to show my Wordless Wednesday. I captured this shot at the Dallas Arboretum – with the parent’s permission to take the picture and to post on my blog. It makes me laugh every time. https://chambersontheroad.com/2023/10/25/wordless-wednesday-10-25-2023/
You’re welcome, Betty.
I love your photo for Wordless Wednesday. So cute and colourful.
Thanks, Hugh! Have a great day!
The bottom photo must be a squid or sea horse head with the pumpkins?
Lol, I love your suggestions, Liesbet. Around the other side were ghosts. I think it’s supposed top be a ghost, but it may have been affected by all the rain we’ve had.
I love these we have them around here but I’ve not seen a holloween one yet!!
I hope you spot some Halloween ones this week, Willow.
So do I Hugh yours is lovely, in case I don’t here’s some Halloween colours.
That’s a lot of halloween over on your blog, Willow!
Thanks for the link.
Lol it is all the colours I love Hugh🎃🎃🎃🎃💜
I always love spotting these kinds of toppers! What a talented bunch of people out there!
I know, aren’t they? This particular post box has new one at least every other month. I expect it will be replaced with a fireworks one after halloween, to then be replaced with a Christmas one.
So cute! In a village near Edinburgh in Scotland local knitting club does the same thing. I’ve seen the Easter one with ducks and bunnies, Summer themed with sea life, and the one for King’s coronation.
Greetings 🙂
Good to hear you’ve seen them in your part of the UK, too. I think they make a lovely addition to the environment, and certainly cheer up a lot of people who pass by.
