A wonderful capture of a double rainbow, Hugh! I was able to capture a double rainbow on my birthday a few years back. They say a double rainbow brings good luck.
I hope that luck comes my way, Eugi. I saw another double rainbow yesterday, so I may be on to something. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
I hope luck comes your way too! 🫰
you are so lucky to capture a double rainbow Hugh! I think that was some great luck!
Yes, I agree Carol anne. It was my sister-in-law who alerted me to these rainbows.
Oh, yes!
I haven’t seen a rainbow – double or single – for a long time. We have gotten almost no rain since March. Fingers crossed that we will get some rain, and see a few rainbows, soon.
Oh, wow! No rain since March. I live in the wettest city in the UK, so rain almost occurs daily. We rarely have to water our garden.
I hope some rainbows come your way soon.
Beautiful!
I’ve only seen a double rainbow once and that was a couple of months ago at my local lake. I took a photo, but it didn’t come out very well!
Oh, no. I hope you see another one soon, Esther. Make sure you have your camera at the ready. Autumn is an excellent time of the year to spot double rainbows.
Thanks, Hugh. I’ll keep looking out for them.
Here’s my attempt for today : https://hammadrais.wordpress.com/2024/10/09/wordless-wednesday-light-up-the-night/
Thank you, Hammad. I’ll be over to check out your Wordless Wednesday post.
What an amazing shot and sighting. WOW.
Feel free to come and share at ES #48 #WordlessWednesday
My entry for today, Snoozing in the Sun
Thank you.
Beautiful, Hugh! I love your comment about double rainbows being a wave from someone in your life and bringing someone along with them. Have a wonderful week!
I can’t remember who told me, Terri. It may even have been something I thought up when I was younger. I always say ‘hello’ and wave at rainbows.
I never have, but I’d love to
I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you’ll see one soon.
I have seen a couple of double rainbows, usually on dog walks! However, I’ve never managed to take a decent photo of one. Stunning photo!
I got a phone call from my sister-in-law about this double rainbow. I’m glad she told me about it. It was the most vivid colour I’d seen.
I once saw a triple!
Wow!
Oh yes, I sure am seeing double, Hugh! I think that means double the luck!! Cher xoxoxo
I sure hope so, Cher. Although I won £30 in the national lottery last weekend.
Who doesn’t love rainbows, right? It always feels to me like a heaven is greeting us. Now, a double rainbow is double the blessing.
That’s a nice thought, Erika. I see rainbows as a wave from somebody who walked with me on the life path. When it’s double, it means they’ve bought somebody with them.
Oh, my, that is a very lovely thought too, Hugh🥰
lovely!

Wow double rainbow!
Looks like it, yes.
I’ve seen a couple of double rainbows in my life. When I see a rainbow of any sort, it always gives me pause to appreciate the beauty in this world.
You’re so right, Michael. Mother Nature doing her best to impress us and ask that we be kind to her.
I love double rainbows. I saw several of them while I was in England this time last year.
This one was taken in Wales, Michelle. A rare sight, but I had my phone to take the picture.
Well that’s weird. Hope there’s a double pot of gold somewhere too!
I expect there was, Paul. The trouble is, by the time you get to the end, it’s gone.
