Are These A Sign Of Beauty? #WordlessWednesday #Photography

Wordless Wednesday – No words, just pictures. Allow your photo(s) to tell the story.

Photo of three metal mushrooms which have a lot of rust of them.
Would you paint these, or is rust a sign of beauty?

  1. I would leave them in their natural state. Rustic pieces are very popular and more interesting. We used to go antiquing and saw many rusted items and they were asking a fortune for them.

    1. I can only imagine they must have been very old and perhaps rare. I don’t think these mushrooms are rare or worth very much though as they were on full display without any security, but they do look nice as they are.

  2. No, I wouldn’t paint them. They look more natural rusted and will look lovely in the garden. They sell a lot of rusted pieces for garden art in my neck of the woods. Visiting from Wordless Wednesday.

  3. I love them as they are Hugh. Lots of character. But I was also attracted to them simply because they’re mushrooms – I really loved them.

  4. Definitely leave them as they are. After all one would not paint over mushrooms found in the forest and these look like mushrooms that just sprung up where they are.

  5. Hugh, I’m the one to look at them differently. I’d try to restore them to their shiny beauty. It may be a lot of work, but I’d get help from a professional metal restorer. They could be rare treasures! Not that I don’t like rusty looks, just not on these. 📚🎶 Christine

      1. Still love the rusty look, Not sure if its a place to sit and rest or mushrooms, either way love it
Thanks so much for participating and sharing at #15 InLinkz #WordlessWednesday (Words also welcome). See you again next week!

  6. That’s a good question, Hugh! I kind of like their weathered look, but if they would be in my garden, I’d probably paint them in some bright and fun colors. We just visited a ghost town in Northern Chile, where most of the mining buildings and factory area looked like this, all rusty, so this is a timely post and question! :)

    1. Rust adds a new dimension to a lot of objects, mostly veering to the dark side, Liesbet.
Your ghost town visit sounds fascinating. I’m looking forward to reading about it.
