You don’t see here much these days. At least, I don’t.

No another fad that bit the dust 💜💜🎶

I’m from the U.S. and I don’t think I’ve ever watched the Macy’s parade. I did get to work on a Rose Bowl Parade float one year, though… that was fun.

    1. Hugh W. Roberts avatar

Was that part of the Macy’s parade or a separate parade, Janis?

      1. Janis @ RetirementallyChallenged.com avatar

The Rose Parade takes place on New Years Day in Pasadena, California. All the floats are covered with flower petals and other organic materials… they are pretty spectacular.

        1. Hugh W. Roberts avatar

Wow! That sounds like a great parade. London has a New Year’s Day parade too, although I don’t think it’s as spectacular as the Thanksgiving one.

    Definitely strange… lol

      I’m glad you agree.

        Oh, yes 😂

Here in the UK, we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving Day, Esme. But I’m wishing everyone who does celebrate it, a fantastic day.

Yup, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade! We watch some of it every year!

    1. Hugh W. Roberts avatar

Enjoy this year’s parade. I always love seeing Santa on his sleight at the very end of the parade.
      Happy Thanksgiving.

You, too, Hugh. May your turkey be tasty!

        1. Hugh W. Roberts avatar

We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in The UK, but we’re having a turkey for Christmas dinner, so I’ll be enjoying mine then, Noelle.

    A Thanksgiving tradition!

    1. Hugh W. Roberts avatar

Yes, we don’t have anything like this in the UK, apart from the New Year’s Day parade in London. But it’s not as grand and as big as the Thanksgiving Day parade in New York.

    macy’s parade!

    1. Hugh W. Roberts avatar

      Is the right answer.

    This makes me smile, Hugh.

    1. Hugh W. Roberts avatar

That’s good to hear, Dan. It made me smile too when I saw that flying object in the photo.

      1. Dan Antion avatar

We used to gather around the TV on Thanksgiving morning to watch the Macy’s Day Parade. Our high school band marched in it one year. It was a very big deal.

        1. Hugh W. Roberts avatar

Were you in the band, Dan?

I’d heard about the Thanksgiving parade many years ago, and always wanted to see it for real. When I had the chance to do so, not even the cold weather and sleet that day could stop me from standing for what seemed like for many hours watching the parade.

          1. Dan Antion avatar

I was not in the band, but I helped raise money so some friends could go. I’m glad you got to see the parade in person.
