  1. I do love a Welsh cake, though I’ve never made them. We often take a packet on holiday to present to our hosts if they live outside Wales.

    1. I’ve only ever made them once, but they were a little dry. However, my niece makes them all the time and I get a tin of homemade welsh cakes every birthday. Hers are much better than the ones I made. They don’t last long.

        1. No, they are more like a scone, Colleen. Some people slice them in half and spread butter and jam on them. I also know people that eat them with custard. I prefer mine plain (as they come).

    1. They contain raisins. Never seen them with strawberries or blueberries in them. I’m not sure they’d cope on the bake stone these are cooked on. Although a side serving of blueberries or strawberries would be great.

        1. Yes. And once you make the first batch, you’ll be wanting to make the next as soon as the first batch have gone. I recommend eating them as they come. Although some people spread butter on top and add a dollop of jam.

        1. Planning trip to M&S. I’ll have a look but sometimes they go local … so Scottish cakes only in Scotland etc. But I’ll check out the main one in Glasgow … I’ll report back 😁
