My first thought was Strawberry Fields forever…
Now I have an earworm. But I like the song.
I see neglect. Surely, ghosts hold secret meetings there. There is a lot to spark the imagination!
And you have a great imagination, Eugi.
Thank you, Hugh.
Wow, the grass is tall, Hugh! I’m going with the ghost of a landscaper! Cool shot!
That’s an interesting take, Terri. I wonder if the ghost ever gets inside the house?
The imagination could run wild with this one, Hugh. Definitely ghosts!
I agree. Lots to take in, Jan.
So, that’s a good take, Hugh. A closed gate, a whole in a wall… that all makes curious and makes one’s fantasy waking up.
The stories that the garden and the house could tell, Erika.
Looks like there should be ghosts peeking out from behind those bars and if anyone came to close they would get a Boo!
Boo!
I see decay and neglect, with peeling paint on the gate and the wild vegetation hinting at the passage of time of an abandoned house seen with overgrown ivy.
Come and participate and share at ES #79.
My entry for this week: Westminster Abbey
A great description, thank you.
A crumbling old house? Nightly ghosts?
I’m not going to visit that place at night. Way too scary.
Me neither!
I want to know now what’s behind the gate, and across the garden.
This was all I could see, and the gate was locked. There’s no way to get over it either. I suppose we’ll never know.
You really make us think, which is great. Lots of ideas going through my mind now. Thanks, Hugh.
Looking at photos can be a great way to get the creative cogs working, Esther.
I see a squirrel on the right side! Crazy me — I have pareidolia and keep imagining things.😃😃
There are certainly a lot of them in the area where I live.
An industrial complex guarded by snakes.
What a great imagination. I love it, but wouldn’t want to go there.
Better not dogs :D
Here’s my attempt: https://hammadrais.wordpress.com/2025/06/04/wordless-wednesday-touched-by-water/
I have two dogs. They do bark if anybody rings the doorbell or knocks on the door, but I’d rather they do that than not. It’s like having a house alarm that you take for a walk.
It’s my new house! How did you know?
I spotted the sports car outside and knew I’d seen that car somewhere before.
I love pictures taken through windows and gates.
This one had a big hedge around it, but the gap I found was just enough to see what was on the other side.
