Which Of These Goes Best With A Hot Chocolate? #WordlessWednesday #Photography

Wordless Wednesday – No words, just pictures. Allow your photo(s) to tell the story.

The cakes and pastries are on me. Which one?

  1. I’ll go for a plain-old slice of cake, Hugh. Or two. :) Thank you!

I’ve become weary about pastry displays as they have them here at bakeries in Argentina, but nothing really tastes good. Must be my spoiled taste buds from Belgium!

That being said, we recently enjoyed a high tea in a Welsh village, believe it or not. The savory and sweet treats were equally as yummy.

    1. How nice that you found a Welsh village, Liesbet. Did you have Welsh cakes? They are small, round, flat cakes with currents and spices. Some people add a small amount of sugar and spread jam in the middle or on top. I eat them as they come. There is also a savoury snack called Welsh Rarebit. Was that on the menu?

      1. No Welsh cakes or rarebit, Hugh. Unfortunately, since I wanted to try the Welsh cakes as I had read about it. The service was in Spanish, so we never learned the names of the treats. I’m adding a photo of the food in my upcoming expense blog. :)

  2. I’m a mince pie addict and partial to the occasional hot chocolate—but never together! I can’t take milky drinks with food; the combination is too sweet for me. Give me a cup of Builder’s tea or strong, black coffee, and that’s another matter.
