When we first moved to the bush, all our early Christmas trees were branches and the decorations made with the girls from things found in the bush, nuts, interesting leaves etc
That sounds amazing and just how it used to be when Christmas trees first made an appearance. I remember making homemade decorations for the tree at school too. Always great fun.
I don’t think I have ever seen a cooler tree!
That’s good to hear. If you do see another one, take a photo and send it to me.
I will do it, Hugh!
Fabulous tree! I love it!
Thanks, Colleen.
You’re welcome, Hugh.
So pretty, Hugh! Last year, I bought a lighted branch set from Costco that fits nicely in a tall, glass vase. I keep it on a table in our living room and added blue ornaments to it. As someone already commented, I also like the clean look to it!
These lighted branches seem to becoming popular, Terri. My sister-in-law keeps hers up all year, although removes the Christmas ornaments from them before 12th night. At Easter, she add some small egg shaped ornaments to the branches. Always looks great.
Good idea!
Love it Hugh, No need to have a ‘green’ tree! Love the simplicity and clean look.

I’m glad you like it, Esme. Sometimes, ‘simple’ is much better.
I love this, Hugh and the decorations are fabulous.
Sadly, not my Christmas tree Cathy, but certainly inspiration for Christmas future.
Indeed it is.
Aw, I love the owls
They seem to be very popular as Christmas tree decorations.
So it seems
I like this one, more so because it didn’t involve cutting down a tree 🙂! Hmm..amongst the ones I’ve seen, I think the one I saw in Rome last year was interesting because the decoration consisted of letters (content not visible but I guess it must be the wishes) that passers-by were writing and hanging on the tree!
My entry for Wordless Wednesday here:
I have heard of places and countries planting two fir trees for every one they cut down. If we do have a real tree, we always buy the potted ones and then plant them outside after Christmas. One 3ft tree is now over 8ft tall.
That tree in Rome sounds amazing. And what a great idea writing messages and hanging them on the branches.
I love it!! A tree is a tree and I love bringing the outside in.
Yes, from what history has taught us, bringing the outside inside is a Christmas tradition.
lovely tree :)
Thank you.
That’s beautiful 💜💜
Thank you.
Flying owls is a nice touch on this:)
I think so, too. We get lots of owls during the cold, winter months.
That is a wonderful tree. It lifts my spirits.
That’s great to hear, Dan. Glad you like it.
I love this!
Thank you. So do I.
I love your unique, festive, and sparkly tree, Hugh! Enjoy the season!!
Sadly not my tree, Liesbet. It was in a local hotel, but I love it.
Seasons Greetings.
