Nighttime Objects: What Do You See In The Dark? #WordlessWednesday #Photography

Wordless Wednesday – No words, just pictures. Allow your photo(s) to tell the story.

Photo taken during the night of a house, trees, shadows and stars in the night sky.
Can you spot anything strange in this nighttime photo?

        1. Thank you. Yes, feedback is so important. The more the better. It helps us in future posts knowing what readers say and want. The more feedback the more help it is to us.

  1. I see lots of faces and that green man and the UFO or as they want us to call them now UAP’s, but will it catch on? Great tree shadows evoking a eerie atmosphere :)

    1. You’re right, Janis. The scene in this photo is so different during the day. The shadows of the trees cast by sunlight do not look as eerie as the the ones casted by the moonlight.

      1. The dot beside the cloud – that’s the lens flare as per my understanding, due to the bright moon on the right hand side. I have so many pictures spoilt by those that now I can spot them immediately.

        1. Other people have told me that those are spheres. I’ve read some interesting stuff about them. The moon was very bright that night, but you could still see the stars.

    1. Those shadows from the moonlight sure do give the photo a touch of eeriness.
Thanks for your link, Esme. Yes, I do believe in fairies. And I do believe in elves too. I’ve seen them work for Father Christmas.

      1. Love your images, well done and I am happy to hear that you have do believe in faires and seen them at work. :)

        1. Awww never seen the fairies, you should go hunt them down and try and catch them at work.

  2. I love how the lens captures otherworldly things, Hugh! The creepy tree shadows on the building were great but the lens flare showing us the UFO and the green man waving (I saw it too) capped it off perfectly! I’m sure the sound of the dry leaves added to the thrill. Thanks for linking this with Sunday Stills this week :)

    1. Glad you saw the little green man and UFO, Terri.

These types of photos are fun to explore with the light creating plenty of stuff you have to really check twice.

It was the shadows of the trees on the side of the house that I was trying to get. Then I noticed the full moon, but that did not come out as well as some of the other elements of the photo.

I was also amazed that I captures some stars. Given the millions of miles they are away, they must be the furthest things I’ve ever captured on photo.

    1. Yes, nighttime photos with moonlight and shadows can be very atmospheric, Cathy. It was windy that night too, so the sound of the wind through the branches helped.

    1. That bright object is the moon, Liesbet. I took this photo on my iPhone 14. There is a UFO with a little green man waving in the pic, though. Well, I think there is anyway.
