Festive Thursday Doors

Dan, over at No Facilities, has taken over hosting Thursday Doors.

If you’re not sure what Thursday Doors is, Dan explains more on his blog post. Basically, it’s a photography challenge centred around (yes, you’ve guessed it) ‘Doors!’

The challenge is open to everyone to participate in. So, why not join in and meet lots of other bloggers?

Here’s my entry for this week.

Festive Door

What do you think? Is the figure in the glass trying to get out or get in? And don’t you think it strange that the door handle is pushed down, yet there is no signs of any hands on it?

A big thank you to Norm Frampton who created Thursday Doors and ran the challenge for its first six years. And thanks to Dan for being our new host.

  1. It’s difficult to tell which parts are reflection and which not, Hugh. Perhaps someone is standing behind the wall, holding the handle down.

    1. I didn’t notice it either, Mary, until I chose this photo for this week’s Thursday Doors challenge. I like it when my photography reveals stuff I wasn’t expecting when I took the photo.

  2. A door fit for the season! The spirit is timely too no? I think it might be Christmas Present and the handle being in a downward position is telling…just pull and the spirit can get out. 😀

My brother lives in Wales and is now a citizen of the UK! He and his family are in Cardiff…not too terribly far from you me thinks.

    1. That’s a great explanation about the door handle being in the down position, Deborah.

Cardiff is only about a 50-minute drive from Swansea. I don’t know if you’ve had the chance to visit your brother in Cardiff yet, but it’s a wonderful city to explore.

  3. That’s a very festive door, Hugh. Well, it was until you added the question about the door handle and the image…now I’m beginning to wonder. Nicely done.

Thanks for mentioning the new location for Thursday Doors.

    1. Thanks, Dan, and thanks for becoming the new host for Thursday Doors. I’ll dip in when I can, especially as I haven’t participated as much as I used to. Good luck with running the challenge. I know you’re going to do a great job.

    1. You know me and ‘creepy’ aspects, Terri. I dip into Thursday Doors when I can, although not as often as I used to. Not that I’ve run out of doors to photograph. I’ll definitely be back with more doors.
