I agree with what the others have said. You’ve got a very tidy, clean and organised desk. The fairy lights add coziness and certainly brighten it up at night. I try to keep my desk as tidy as possible, thought usually things pile up on it if I am being a bit lazy. When that happens I usually do a clean of what shouldn’t be on there and give it a wipe down.
Also like your neat and clutter-free desktop. I have seen some people with what looks like hundreds and files and folders on their desktop…it sends my OCD into overdrive. I feel less stressed when I know what’s on my desktop and where, especially if it’s important and on there. It’s one reason I always like to clean out my desktop files every now and then.
Hope you are doing okay overt here, Hugh. Stay safe.
I’m very much like you with both an uncluttered desk and uncluttered desktops on computers, Mable. Those files on my desktop are items I need to get to quickly. If I don’t use them for at least a couple of months, then I move them off the desktop.
The fairy lights were only for Christmas (see the date on the calendar next to the computer). I need to order some more because they gave up on me the day before I was due to remove them.
We’re in another lockdown here in Wales (until Nov 9th). However, I’m keeping well and staying safe. Hope all is ok with you and keep staying safe.
That is very disciplined of you towards organising. It is a great habit to have, and these habits to help organise our lives adds up at the end of the day. I have a similar approach to chores at home, doing some chores each day as opposed to one whole day that can be overwhelming.
Ah, fairy lights on your desk just for Christmas. I have seen fairy lights on desks and in bedrooms all year round, so I thought maybe this was your kind of everyday decorating 😀
Hope things get better in Wales very soon. All good over here. We’re getting out of lockdown since March this week here in Australia. It’s good news but it also means we have to be very careful going out. Take care, Hugh.
Now that’s a decent-sized monitor, clean desk, and comfy workplace! I love the screen saver – do you know where the dune photo is from? – and sense productivity!
I’m afraid I don’t know where that photo was taken, Liesbet. It comes as one of the options as a screensaver on an iMac. They have lovely photos to choose from. I now have another one of mountains, pine trees and snow (to fit in with the upcoming season).
A wonderful place to hide and enjoy writing and reading. 🙂
Thank you, Amy. It’s my perfect hideaway for all of that.
Clean desk 👍
= an uncluttered mind.
Love your minimal desk and Christmas lights
Thank you. I love coloured Christmas light. They remind of Christmases back in the ’70s.
Cute little cove. The lights are interesting
Keep a song in your heart and laughter on your lips
Thank you. They were powered by the computer.
Great happy hideaway, Hugh! It looks like a productive place to spark your creativity and writing projects!
It is, Terri. This is my place to hide away from the world around me and write.
Love the set up Hugh, I’m a sucker for pretty lights 😊
Me too, Sam. Coloured fairy lights take me back to my childhood days. Back then, all Christmas lights were coloured.
Yes I remember those days and plenty of tinsel 😊
A very tidy desk, Hugh. Love the lights 🙂
Thanks, you, Cathy. I can’t work in a mess or with clutter all around me. I like seeing space.
