My initial impression was that it looked lonely, which seemed verified by your comment to Erika that it was the only one to come up this year. I hope life is calm and healthy for you, Hugh. It feels as if everyone is in turmoil this year.
Yes, it was our lone pumpkin this year, Rob. We usually get two or three, but 2020 only produced one.
Life is good, although we’re about to go into another lockdown on Friday for 17 days. I’m going to make the most of it, though.
Wow, what a whopper!! Well done! Oh yeah I see the seahorse head too, now next year’s challenge is a monkey lol!
I didn’t even see the seahorse until people started mentioning it, Sam. I need to take more notice of my photos.
Green thumb, orange fruit 🙂 Nice work, Hugh.
All the credit for growing this beauty goes to my partner, Aimer. I encouraged the plant to fruit, though.
LOL, not sure “encouraging” counts 🙂
Hahaha, it does look like a seahorse, Hugh and an ochre one at that!
After reading your post, I wasn’t so sure about the colour being Ochre, Terri. I was tempted to link to your Sunday Stills post, but because I was unsure about the colour, I didn’t want to hijack your post.
The reference to a sea horse is well spotted and what a fine looking Pumpkin it is Hugh 🙂
Thank you, Carol. It took me a while to figure out the sea-horse connection. I didn’t see it until it was mentioned to me.
Hand’s up neither did I until I read the comment…sigh… shows how observant I was. Hugh 🙂
From your own garden?
Yes, homegrown in our own garden, Erika.
Awesome, Hugh! He must have felt very comfortable. What a beautiful examplar!
It’s the only one that came to fruit this year, Erika. Usually, we get two or three that fruit, but the summer in Wales this year was cool and wet, so only the one fruit appeared.
Still more than we got… Lol. Enjoy that master piece of nature😊
I’m afraid all pumpkins remind me of a certain national embarrassment which we shall soon hopefully be rid of!
I have everything crossed.

That pumpkin has a head!
I was thinking of carving it into a head and allowing it to shine on 31st Oct. 🎃
Thanks so much for reblogging the post, ladies.
Good idea!
That´s one fabulous pumpkin!! What will you be making with it, pie, soup, or something else???
Probably carving it and giving the seeds to the birds, Darlene.
This pumpkin is a gorgeous one!
Thank you, Elizabeth. Homegrown. We only got one to fruit this year. Previous years, we’ve had two or three.
Homegrown, that’s neat!
Thank you.
Kinda like a seahorse that’s swallowed a large orange ball!
Lol, I never looked at it like that, but I see what you mean.
