Interesting stories, Hugh. Beautifully told.
I forgot to say: The Grand Canyon is breathtaking.
It is. I loved my visit there.
Thanks, Rob. And with no words.
No words-perfectly told. 🙂
Oh, the Grand Canyon brought back memories of beautiful Arizona ❤
It’s a beautiful place, but too hot for me. I wouldn’t say no to another few days in Las Vegas, though.
I love the heat. As for Vegas, I hear it’s a ghost town 😦
I expect because of the pandemic? I hear London is much the same.
The world as we knew it going through change my friend 🙂 xx
Especially the Grand Canyon – certainly is Grand
It is indeed. It’s a wonderfull place to visit.
I can happily say I’ve seen the Grand Canyon, Hugh. That is a lovely shot! The views of the Brecon Beacon NP are lovely!
I had someone hold on to the back of my shirt when I took that shot, Terri. It’s an amazing place, although I didn’t do the helicopter ride to the bottom. Maybe next time?
Not much can beat a blue-skied photo of the Grand Canyon. You’re making me miss the west even more, Hugh. Soon, we will return., 🙂
The redness of the rock reminded me of the rocks I’ve seen photos of on Mars, Liesbet. I wonder if they’re all related in some way? I enjoyed my one and only trip to the Grand Canyon. We went very early one morning before the heat really built.
Great pics, Hugh. I saw the one of the Grand Canyon and said, “That’s not England.” Lol. I haven’t been there yet, but can’t wait. 🙂
Ah, those other photos are all in Wales, not England, Diana (although England has some spectacular mountains and valleys too). I hope you make it to the Grand Canyon. It’s an amazing place.
Thanks for clarifying, Hugh. I can’t wait to get to both place. 🙂
All great views But I love looking into the mountain. It reminds me of all the possibilities in life.
Thanks Hugh
Stay well and laugh
Thank you. I’m lucky to be surrounded by mountains and the sea. I especially like seeing the mountains when they are snow-capped.
Oh yes I bet
All great views. But the photo of the Grand Canyon made my eyes watery like they got when I was standing there for the first time.
I was shocked by how many sat right on the edge eating their lunch. Me? I had my lunch at least 10 metres from the edge.
That is a phenomenon I experienced too. I am totally afraid of heights. But when I got there, I was so fascinated of this indescribable beauty that I did not feel a bit of fear. I was standing only 20 centimeters away from the edge and later I went on the skywalk too… I had never thought I could ever do that.
I did the glass skywalk, and because I knew I had glass underneath my feet and a barrier stopping me from falling off, I seemed to be okay with it. Getting too close to the edge without any barriers was a no-no. I think I had someone holding on to my shirt when I took the picture.
I fully agree and that is why I couldn’t understand the ease I was feeling when standing at the edge. I was on top of the CN tower in Toronto but I could impossibly walk on that glass bottom although it was indoor. It is all in the head… lol
Just gorgeous, dear Hugh! I have never been to the Grand Canyon, or Abergavenny Valley! Now I want to see both areas! Cher xo
I hope you make it to both of them one day, Cher. All that space and fresh air make it worth every second.
Ah, me too; thank you, Hugh! Oh yes, I am sure it does! I truly miss wide, open spaces!!
Gorgeous photos. I love seeing such expanses like these, it’s so refreshing!
Caz x
Yes, seeing all that open space always helps refreshen my mind, Caz. I also like the smell of the clean, fresh air.
Wonderful views, Hugh. The Brecons are on my list of places to visit. And the Grand Canyon is incredible! Thanks for joining in 🙂
Thank you, Cathy. I am blessed to live not far away from the Brecon Beacons National park, although I’ve yet to discover all of it.
I visited the Grand Canyon in 2010. Took the photo on my then iPhone4. The other photos were taken with an iPhone XR. You can certainly tell the difference.
Phone cameras have come a long way. Still, it’s a good shot of the canyon.
I believe the Brecon Beacons cover a very large area.
Indeed, they are — lots to explore. I especially like them during the winter.
