Welcome back to Weekend Music Share; the place where everyone can share their favourite music.

Here in the UK, it’s a bank-holiday weekend; a time when many of us will get an extra day off work to relax and enjoy life.
My song choice for this week is a song that never fails to help me relax. When I’m looking for some time to sit back to recharge my mind and body, I close my eyes and listen to this song. I couldn’t decide which of the two videos for the song to share with you. I found both videos absolutely beautiful and well put together, so you decide.
I Hear You Now‘ was taken from the album ‘Short Stories‘ which was written in 1979. Although the song became ‘cult’ amongst many in the music industry, it only managed to make the top ten in the UK where it peaked at number eight. In the U.S.A, the song only managed to peak at number 58 on the Billboard Hot 100.
This week share a favourite song or piece of music that helps you relax, or just share a favourite piece of music or song with us. Share a link to it in the comments, or link back to this post from your blog.
Feel free to use the ‘Weekend Music Share‘ banner in your post, and don’t forget to use the hashtag #WeekendMusicShare on social media so other participants can find your post.
My thanks to Erika Kind for the inspiration for this feature.

I love the first one Hugh, but for some reason, don’t remember the 2nd.
I don’t ever remember seeing either video before, Sam. Music videos were still very new back in 1980 when the song entered the UK charts.
Oh I don’t remember the videos at all but the first song I do remember 😊
I enjoyed your relaxing music choice! Here is mine:

Thank you. I’m heading on over to hear your choice right now.
Thank you for participating.
A great song choice Hugh. I remember it well.
I’m glad somebody else remembers this song, Brigid. I was getting slightly concerned that it was only me.
I can hear why you find the music relaxing, Hugh. I wasn’t familiar with the song and your stats show why. I prefer the first video. 🙂
Yes, the first video is lovely, isn’t it, Norah? I took far more notice of the lyrics while watching the video. For me, they are just as beautiful as the song.
It all works well together, Hugh. I like that you are sharing some music with which I was not familiar.
This song must have totally past me by. It is the first time for me hearing it. I like it a lot and I agree, it has a very calming effect.
It was only ever a big hit in the UK, Erika. I think that’s why many people don’t remember hearing it before. It never fails to help me relax.
I am glad you are doing this series and bringing us in touch with such songs. Thank you, Hugh!
I remember the name and was looking forward to hearing the song to see what it triggered, but both vids won’t play any sound for me. 😦 Not sure what the problem is but my speakers are on and working, lol ❤
Oh, I’m sorry there was no sound, Debby. That’s strange, given that the videos did play (without music). I always have to think about YouTube videos not playing in all countries. I can understand one not playing, but both! Oh gosh.
xx
Yes, this was the first time both didn’t work. I even went over to Youtube to try and hear and it wouldn’t play there, yet other ones would. Strangeness! 🙂 x
Gremlins are on the loose. 😱
A music magazine, Hugh? Wow! You are the social media master, my friend. I’m very intrigued.
Thanks for this song. I wasn’t familiar with it, but I can see why you like it so much. Hugs on the wing! 🕊️
It’s Flipboard that call their boards ‘magazines’, Teagan. Many have said that Flipboard is the male equivalent to Pinterest. I don’t know how true that is, but I did give up on Pinterest a long time ago.
I’m glad you enjoyed my choice of song this week. I kept waking up with that song in my head all night. 😀
Hugs to you.
Sorry to be off topic, Hugh but… I thought it might be fun to name the businesses in fictional Parliament, Mississippi after followers of the serial. Do you mind if I call a place “Hugh’s Appliance Repair” next week?
I’d be honoured, Teagan. Thank you so much. 😀
A nice song, good for relaxing. I find this one unbeatable for that, even if it does keeping popping up on the ad breaks at present 😉 https://youtu.be/fXeKi6ZkbOw
I can see why you chose Albatross as your ‘relaxation’ song, Clive. It’s been a popular choice since I started this feature, having been chosen a few times before. It’s way ahead of the rest of the pack, so it’s a favourite of many (myself included).
Thanks so much for sharing it with us.
Hi, Hugh – Somehow I missed this song along the way. I also missed that it is a bank holiday in the UK…and I’m in the UK right now! Thank you for sharing this.
Have a great time while in the UK, Donna. I didn’t expect you to be in the blogging world while on your travels, so I appreciate the visit very much. Have a super trip, and enjoy the bank holiday.
I missed this one Hugh. I can’t claim I was too young, I just missed it. Thanks for the intro.
I think a lot of people did the same with this one, John. You’re not alone. I’m glad I’ve had the chance to introduce it to you all again.
Me too.
When I said Sis I meant Ritu’s choice 😉😉😁
Lol, I know you did. 😀 I saw the reply was meant for Ritu, although I’m sure I’ve been called ‘Sis’ before, but we won’t go into that. 😀
Lol and why not ?? 😉💜
This is lovely, Hugh. I’m familiar with Jon and Vangelis but not this particular track.
Of all their songs, this has always been my favourite, Cathy. It never fails to get me off to the land of Nod. 😴
Oh! I love Vangelis! I certainly remember this one, my favourite was this one
He had so many lovely songs, Willow. I think some of them would have been even better without any lyrics. He certainly knows how to help relax the mind.
Yes he does, he writes amazing sound tracks for films too. Chariots of Fire and Blade Runner to mention the obvious…great composer💜
Strangely, I have no recollection of this at all. I was only 8 back in ‘79, but I can at least remember hearing a song at some point. This one passed me by! Thanks for sharing!
I think it passed many by, Steve. Only a hit in the UK, yet it has always remained a firm favourite of mine.
I’m English. That’s what’s so surprising!
That’s actually quite a tough one.
Music always ends up being more upbeat for me.
Though there is a Punjabi meditation song I do love that calms and soothes me…
Tuhi Tuhi by Veer Manpreet Singh
I can see why your choice of song would help you relax. It’s strange, but I seem to have more music that I can relax to than what will get me up and dancing. Sign of my age, I think, Ritu. 😀
Lol! You won’t age, but will mature!!!
Yes, just like a smelly cheese 🤣
I was thinking fine wine 🍷 … But if cheese is your thing 🧀 … 😜
Nice piece of Music Sis 💜
