This is so peaceful and happy to me, Hugh. Quiet… just the occasional word or two from the only other occupied table, at the other end of the patio. Peaceful motion of the waves and boats. Happy, because of the sunshine and the boats, which surely must be on carefree courses. I hope your holiday weekend is happy and carefree. Hugs.
We love living on the coast, Teagan. It can get busy, but we never get disturbed by the visitors. We’re also lucky in that we have a local authority who cleans up all the mess during the early hours of the following day, so it’s like waking up to clean, fresh day every day.
Enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend. 🌞
Springtime can also not be good in the UK. We’ve had a good one this year, although now people here are crying out for some rain! When it comes to the weather, I don’t think there’s ever pleasing us British. 😀
I love to lunch on the waterfront, Hugh. Thanks for taking me there. I plan to take an hour’s drive over the weekend to have lunch on Maine’s mid-coast. It will be delightful and worthy of a photo or two.
I keep seeing this “wordless Wednesday” topic coming up, is that a blogger wide known thing? Because I could get down with that potentially in the future 😝
Wordless Wednesday has been going since I started blogging (Feb 2014). It’s seen as a great way to connect with other bloggers. Participants are supposed to publish photos or images that have no words in them, and not to include any words in the post. It’s great fun and has undoubtedly connected me with other bloggers.
Connecting with other bloggers has been like the best funniest part of this experience so far so I will hands down consider taking this up myself in the future. Thanks for the info! 😉
I’m always amazed by how many bloggers tell me that they do not have the time to connect with other bloggers. It can become a very lonely blogging experience when that happens.
You’re welcome, Cailin.
I was under the impression that was one of the major parts of the whole experience, that’s sad to hear that not all feel this way
Looks like you have better weather than we have had in Northern California, Hugh! A beautiful day and I can feel the solitude… until the crowd comes. Could this be a hint of a new story from you (what happened to the crowd?) 🙂
This photo was taken a few years ago, Terri. Our weather has been good, although next week the temps are back down to low 50s. 🥶 How can that be when the longest day is now less than a month away?
I was lucky to get this shot with nobody other than that one guy in it. This corner of our city is always busy, although I do remember there being a chilly breeze that day, so just about everybody else was taking coffee inside the cafe.

Nature!
On a side note, when is the spring weather ever better in the UK than in southern Utah in the US!? Answer: this May.

I’m sure it will, Molly. Coastal living has always been enjoyable for us. When you have two beach-loving dogs, it’s the perfect place to be.

Yup, that looks inviting, 🙂 xx
Very inviting. A great place to clear the cobwebs from our minds, Debby.
xx
No doubts! 🙂 xx

It’s a beautiful shot, Hugh. My first thoughts were ‘late summer or early autumn’ — The fog and green water reminds me of Connecticut.
It was actually taken late Spring, Rob. We have a climate much like Connecticut.
And what that picture tells is a story I love! Wish I was there right now!
I’m glad you saw the story, Erika. That’s what Wordless Wednesday is all about. No words needed; just pictures.
I see! And I love the idea behind the challenge!
Looks like a great place to rest a while
It’s perfect, Colline.
I’d love to sit there and write.
It’s the perfect place to write, Teri. An inspirational corner of the city where I live.
One of my favorite times at the beach. Everyone was gone. Thanks for sharing, Hugh.
Yes, nothing quite like a deserted beach, John. It’s perfect.
Home 😉
Perfect, Sue.
Lovely and that sky!!
It was the perfect day for a bit of solitude.
This place looks lovely Hugh.💜
Taken at the Mumbles end of Swansea Bay, Willow. Perfect for a light lunch while taking in the views. Plus, the cafe was dog-friendly. 🐶
Even better got to love a dog friendly cafe so you can sit and people watch 💕
Solitude…without being lonely. Perfect!
Indeed, Donna. I enjoy people watching.
A little bit of relaxation while taking in the view.
Yes, exactly.
Southwark Cathedral. I can hear you laughing from here. I’m surprised it hasn’t collapsed around me.

I know it well. A charming, peaceful place.
