Hi Hugh
I found 5 creatures, but I’ll bet there’s more
Snake, squirrel, badger, bear, and something I can’t quite identify. An excellent example of pareidolia, one of my favorite pastimes
Thanks
Laura
This looks like First Nations art which we see in Canadian forests. To me, it looks like a mother bear with two or three of her cubs. I don’t find it scary at all.
Already rattling around my creative cogs, Cathy. 😀
I always wanted a horse, since I was three apparently. Your picture reminds me of a dream I had when I was very young, but can still remember vividly; a wooden horse, not of the rocking variety but made out of a tree, very creepy. I never did get a real horse!
I remember my young sister getting a rocking horse one Christmas. It was made out of metal and would sometimes rock all on its own. Well, that’s what I told her. 😈
Some dreams and memories seem to stay with us forever. I wonder why?
Looks like some kind of distorted dinosaur lol ❤
Yes, I agree. I’m amazed by what you’re all seeing in this craving.
xx
How gorgeous! Where?
Deep in a woods while out for a walk with the dogs.
What a wonderful something to stumble across. 🙂
What a gorgeous “sculpture’….although I may not wish to run into him a night!
Thanks, Donna. I found it hidden in some woods we were walking through.
It looks a bit like a stegosaurus, Hugh. It’s quite a find.
Yes, I thought something from the prehistoric era too, Rob. Maybe something Lulu comes into contact with?
Or eats. 🙂

That’s fantastic, Laura. I love what you’re all seeing in the craving.
A very creative carving, Hugh! Nightmarish to some degree which is just the way you like it 🙂
I love what you all see in this carving, Terri. The variations of what people see are amazing.
I love this Hugh 💜
Thanks, Willow.

This is why I love comments. The variations in what people actually see and read can be so varied.
That is so cool! I love it when art is part of nature – a symbiosis between humans and Mother Earth. 🙂 Nice find!
Thanks, Liesbet. I do wonder why it was out of view inside some woods, though.
Amazing, Hugh. This is an example of art for art’s sake. Nice find.
Exactly, John. Thanks so much.
Reminds me of the Johnny Depp movie, Sleepy Hallow. A tree swallows people whole…
Great find, Hugh 🙂
Trees eating people? That’s the stuff of proper nightmares, Aimer. 😱
Yep. Christopher Walken, if I remember right. Of course, he deserved it 🙂
Someone went to a lot of trouble. I wouldn’t like to meet it on a dark night!
I can’t imagine how much work went into creating this tree creature, Cathy. It was well hidden in the woods, too. I wonder why?
Hmmm…could this be an idea for a story 😁

This is a very creepy picture, Hugh.
It is quite a creepy creature, isn’t it, Robbie?
Now that’s intriguing!
And something that could almost be from one of my upcoming stories.
Definitely!
