  1. My one-that-got-away is “Homburg” by Procol Harum. I had the 45 long ago, but I had forgotten it until I saw it on YouTube recently. The song was the follow-up to “Whiter Shade of Pale” and was a modest success in the UK in 1967, but not in the US. Both songs feature surreal lyrics, though I prefer the vocal melody and organ counter-melody in “Homburg”.

  2. Another 80s’ song that may have passed by my attention back then. It has that typical 80s sound which I love. Reminds me of Bonnie Tyler and others. A great era. Thanks a lot for sharing and the mention 😘

    1. You’re welcome. This song was very popular and was a huge hit on the LGBT scene back in the 80s, Erika. I wouldn’t be surprised if E.G. Daily got some gigs in nightclubs to perform this song.

  3. I can give you the full set: I’ve never heard of the song, the film or E.G. Daily before. I’m sorry, but it didn’t do much for me – a fairly typical piece of mid-80s synth pop. Pleasant enough, but not a stand out.

    1. I guess songs are like books and movies, in that what one person may like, another won’t. It would be a very boring world if we all liked the same stuff, Clive. Thanks for letting me know that the videos worked.

      1. It would indeed be boring – I’ve said the same to people who’ve commented on music I’ve shared in some of my posts! But I’m grateful to you for expanding my musical knowledge, something I’m always keen to do. I tried both videos and they both worked without any problems.

  4. Hi Hugh, on my Android phone, both videos were unavailable but both play with no problem on my PC. No idea why! So, if others have issues, it might be their mobile that’s the issue.

    1. She’s not very well known, Cathy. Despite having lots of credits for movies and TV shows, most have been as a voice-over actor. When I looked her up, I was shocked by the amount of work she has done. I always thought she was just a singer/songwriter.

    1. Great, glad the new video worked for you, Debbie. It’s a shame you can’t view the second video as it features scenes from the movie ‘Theif of Hearts’, and the song compliments the movie so well. Thanks for letting me know.

    1. I don’t think many people will have heard it before. That’s why it’s known as one of those ‘the one that got away’ songs. I only wish it had done better, especially as it was a theme song for a movie.
