Welcome back to Weekend Music Share, a brand new feature on Hugh’s Views and News.
Last week we kicked off with instrumental songs. This week I’m sharing a song classed as ‘the one that got away‘ because it failed to chart when released and, therefore, may never have been heard before.
I’ve uploaded two videos, just in case one doesn’t work in the country you are viewing this.
First recorded in 1984, Love in the Shadows was sung by E. G. Daily, also known as Elizabeth Ann Guttman and sometimes Elizabeth Daily, who is an American actress, voice artist and singer. The song was recorded for the soundtrack to the movie ‘Thief of Hearts.’
‘Love in the Shadows’ was Daily’s second single. It was given a re-release in 1986, with little success.
Unfortunately, the song failed to chart anywhere except on the Dutch singles chart, where it peaked at number 37.
Have you ever heard this song before? What did you think about it?
Do you have a favourite song that failed to chart or many people may not know? Share a link to it in the comments, or link back to this post from your blog.
Feel free to use the ‘Weekend Music Share’ banner in your post and use the hashtag #WeekendMusicShare on social media so other participants can find your post.
My thanks to Erika Kind for the inspiration for this feature.
