Looking To Increase Your Social Media Following?

Me too. Join me at my social media link party and connect with lots of other people looking to increase their social media following.

Social media is powerful. Love it or hate it, it’s one the most accessible free ways to get you, your blog and/or your books noticed. That’s one of the reasons why I’m holding a Social Media Link Party.

Take a look at this email I got recently from the team over at Buffer.

Yes, my blog post ‘Coming Out Of The Closet‘ got retweeted and put in front of nearly 200,000 potential new readers. OK, given the way Twitter works, not all of them will have seen that tweet on their timeline, but I’m not going to complain about being helped in bringing potential new readers to my blog, am I?

I’m inviting everyone to leave me up to four links to their social media accounts. Here’s what you need to do.

  • Copy and paste up to four links to your social media accounts and place them in the comments section of this post. To copy links, go to the home or profile page of your social media account and copy and paste the URL address. Here’s an example of one of mine.

  • Go visit and follow some of the social media accounts of the other people who have already left links. If you’re early and nobody has left any links, then call back later.
  • Please do not include or leave any links to your blogs or blog posts. If you do, then your comment will be sent straight to the WordPress spam monster. You don’t want to end up visiting him, do you? If you’re looking for a party where you can leave blog links, then click here and visit Susie over at her ‘Wild Ride’ party.

To get this party started, here are some links to my social media accounts. You don’t have to follow me on all of them, but I’d be delighted to welcome you to any of these social media platforms.

Flipboard

Twitter

StumbleUpon

Instagram

By growing your social media following, you could potentially open up a social media highway to your blog and watch the number of visitors increase. Take a look at where most of the traffic to my blog came from last year.

    1. No problem being late, Judy. Nobody is ever late when they visit Hugh’s Views And News. This party is one of those never-ending ’till everyone gets fed up’ parties. 😀
Thanks so much for leaving your social media links and for mingling with the other guests.

  1. Don’t have time to party this time around (prepping for new class starting Wednesday!), but I wanted to congratulate you for such a successful post and SM sharing and following! Congrats, Hugh and so well deserved. I’ll catch the next party!

    1. Nobody is ever late here on Hugh’s Views And News, Esmé. 😀

Thank you for leaving your links, although I had to remove the one to your blog as they are not allowed for this particular party (social media links only). However, head on over to Susie’s blog party and you can leave a link to your blog there. 😀

  2. Congratulations on doing so well with your post, Hugh! I seem to have missed that one, so I’ll be reading it today. I really ought to get my head into the social media game, as I’m a bit apathetic when it comes to it! I love following other people, but I lack motivation in setting up my own profiles. Must do better!
Here is my Twitter profile, https://twitter.com/ADixonFiction, and hopefully I will have some more links to add one day!

    1. Social media can be a bit of a funny game, Adam. My only warning would be to not have too many social media accounts. They can take up vast amounts of time to maintain, so I stick with just three (the ones that bring in the most traffic to my blog). Three is manageable, although having something like ‘Buffer’ to schedule tweets is also of great help.
Thanks for the Twitter details. Am already following you on there.
