Saturday, June 10th 2017 was the date for The Third Annual Bloggers Bash which, like the previous two years, was held in London.
And, what a day it was. Of course, as a member of the committee, I’m bound to say it was a success and that everyone who attended had great fun, but don’t take my word for it! No, allow me to introduce you to some of those who attended the event and hear what they had to say.
Click here for the links to all the blogs of those who attended and who feature in the video.
As the cameraman and social media guru for the day, I didn’t get a lot of time to talk to everybody, but I hope I managed to capture the spirit of the day in the video. I did manage to take a few photos, but these are nowhere as good as many of the others I have seen on other blogs.
We’re already planning The Fourth Annual Bloggers Bash which is due to take place on Saturday, 9th June 2018. So, book the date now and join us in meeting some of the people behind the blogs you follow.

Great post! Very interesting! 🙂
Thank you.
Hugh, Susie sent me–though I should have known better! Love the photos from the event. I wish I could have been there in person. Thanks for putting the 2018 date out there!
Thank you, Angela, and thank you to Susie for sending you my way.
I hope you’ll be able to make it to the 2018 Bloggers Bash. We’re already planning the event. This year’s bloggers event was our third event, and it gets better and better each year.
Best wishes,
Hugh
LOVE IT! Thanks so much for putting this all together and for your work on the Bash. I really enjoyed meeting you and everyone else. I’m especially glad we had the extra time to chat in the lobby. So much fun!
I have a post lined up and will blog it soon!
Thanks for bringing this to the party, Hugh! Have fun “mingling” (Clicking on links…).
You’re welcome, Susie. It was lovely to meet you and your husband as well. I hope you had a great vacation.
Best wishes,
Hugh
Thanks, Hugh! It was a mighty fine vacation. Once the 4th of July has passed, I’ll start blogging about it. 🙂
We just got back from our 3 weeks of running around Europe – so I will be the last to blog about the bash.Thank you, Hugh for being our photographer. Well done!
I hope you both had a wonderful trip, Noelle. So lovely to meet you and your husband at The Bloggers Bash.
Wishing you both a restful weekend. 🌞
Thanks, Hugh. Having dinner with people afterward was fun – especially since my daughter was pushing for us to eat at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant!
lol. It was great fun, Noelle. I’m so pleased I stayed over for the night in the hotel. It made the splendid day last even longer.
Fabulous video, Hugh, and looks like the event was an enormous success.
Thank you, Anne. Yes, a very successful day. We’re already planning next year’s event. 😀
Great post and video, Hugh! Looks like everyone had a grand time! ❤️
I think we all did, Janice. It was an all round splendid day. We’re already planning next year’s event.
So fun to see and hear people speak out loud. Written comments just don’t quite capture all the lovely accents! (Like, us Californians, no way have an accent, dude) 🙂 A wonderful event and thank you so much for taking the time to commemorate the event and share with the rest of us! I feel like I know you all so much better!
I’m so glad we had a mixture of accents this year, Terri. It was great that we had both American and Canadian bloggers join us for the first time this year. Plans for next year’s Bloggers Bash are already well underway. I enjoy putting the video together and I’ve got some new ideas for next year’s video. 😀 I think watching a video of somebody you only know from being online is probably the next best thing to actually meeting them (or maybe having a skype call beats that?) 🤔. Capturing the atmosphere on video was my way of transporting you all there.
Yes, you did an amazing job wi th it. Video filming and editing is no easy task !
Thank you so much for putting this video together, Hugh (and for attending the bash in the first place). It was nice to “meet” everyone and to put a face to some of the blogs I am familiar with. Job well done and fun well had, it seems like!!! Up to number 4… 🙂
You’re welcome, Liesbet. I’ve been on the committee of The Bloggers Bash since its first year. Yes, it’s hard work, but we have a lot of fun organising the event. Seeing it all come together on the day is an amazing experience. We’re already organising next year’s event. Hopefully, one year, you’ll be able to join us? 😀
If I’m ever in Belgium by myself during the Bloggers Bash, I might hop over the pond and join in!
Thank you so much for giving up your time at the BB as you always do Hugh…your video is a cracker, it’s really wonderful that so many can share in the BB, whether there in person or not thanks to you. It was so wonderful to see you again. I smile every time I think of the BB, and am already looking forward to the next one. And who knows what next year’s video will be like…that, we will leave in your more than capable hands! Have a lovely weekend Hugh. I’ll be disappearing from blogland soon as things are heating up with our move fast approaching mid to late July so I can’t put off the packing any longer. But I’ll be in touch and also hope to return to blogging proper after the summer. Love & hugs to you 🙂 xxx
Thanks so much for your lovely comments, Sherri. It was lovely to see you at The Bloggers Bash and I’m so pleased we got a chance to talk. It was a wonderful day and I’m so glad I captured it all on the camera of my iPhone. I don’t think the Bloggers Bash would be the same without a video of the people who are the life and soul of the whole event. I think Geoff did a brilliant job of interviewing you, and you did a brilliant job of answering the questions 😀
Good luck with all the packing, but don’t forget to take some well-earned breaks during the time all those boxes are being packed up. I’ll be keeping in touch with you.
xx
Thanks so much again Hugh! See…it only took me 4 days this time to reply back! Haha…both you and Geoff help put me at ease, otherwise goodness knows what I would say!!! Yes…those packing breaks are well needed. This weekend will be the start of the dreaded garage sorting. With three adult kids’ ‘stuff’ lurking there all these years, I dread to think what we’ll find. Think of me! Looking forward very much to keeping in touch, will email soon! Hugs… xxx
That was amazing! Some people were exactly as I had imagined them from their avatar and reading their blogs, others quite different. Thank you so much for this post 🙂
You’re welcome, Lucinda. I had great fun making the video. Everyone who agreed to be filmed was such great sports while I pointed my iPhone at them. I hope I get assigned to do the video again for next year’s event.
You all look like you had a super time, Hugh. Great video.
We did, Jean. It was a wonderful day and I think everyone who attended really enjoyed themselves.
It looks like it was a great time! 🙂
It was, Kat. Are you attending the one in Chicago?
I hope to attend. 🙂
So wonderful to see everyone!!! 🙂 Thanks for filming and posting, Hugh!
You’re welcome, Sarah. If I’d known that Allie Potts was on a FaceTime call to you, I’d have got you to say something on camera as well.
Haha! 😀 Glad you didn’t catch me! I’d have had someone hide the phone behind Geoff. 😉 No, I would have been nice and said hello. That would have been marvelous. Maybe next year in person.
Fingers crossed, Sarah. 🤞
Lovely post Hugh, made me smile loads especially the video! It was good to see and hear some of the bloggers who I didn’t get a chance to talk to. Though, this year I managed to talk to just about everyone! 🙂 xx
Thanks, Marje, and thanks for doing yet another video introduction of yourself while I pushed my iPhone towards you. 😀
As the Bloggers Bash grows, I think it’s going to get more and more difficult to speak to everyone. However, like you, I managed to talk to more people this year, probably because of the extra time we had to rewind at the end of the event and because I also stayed over. I will certainly stay over again at next year’s event.
xx
My pleasure Hugh. I intend to stay over next time Hugh, I felt that I missed out this year as I left quite early… So next year I will definitely have to remedy that. xx
Excellent. I think there will be a few more people staying over next year.
Congrats on another blogger’s bash. Third year in a row and what a turnout. Loved the video you shared, and looks like most bloggers were happy to share about their blogs and themselves when you came around with the camera. None of them looked particularly shy and that was such a delight to watch. If I’d been there I don’t know if I’d been that confident in front of the camera 😀 You also have great control of the camera – a hidden talent there perhaps… The party seems to be bigger and bigger every year, what with bloggers coming back to the bash again and again and some new faces too. It seems like such a welcoming growing movement and I do hope that it keeps going in the years to come. Here in Australia we do have WordPress meetups and I think it’s a great initiative and a great community for bloggers. Here’s to another year of the blogger’s bash and don’t miss it for the world, Hugh 🙂
Thank you, Mabel. Yes, most of the bloggers were very happy for me to film them and ask them questions. I didn’t quite manage to capture everyone, but I did my best in asking them to come to the bar area of the hotel so they could be filmed. They were all a great bunch of people and great sports for answering my questions.
Yes, the Bloggers Bash is growing. We’re already planning next year’s event. Have you been to one of the WordPress meetups in Austrailia? What was it like? I only wish I could transport all you guys, with a push of a button, to The Bloggers Bash. Maybe, one day far in the future, that may come true for the human race?
I thought you did a great job and the audio was amazing. Could hear the bloggers loud and clear and the background noise just added to the atmosphere. I’m sure you’ll be able to go a good a job next year.
Never been to one of the WordPress meetups in Australia. It would be fun, though. I have a feeling these meetups are just as good like the Blogger’s Bash, Getting to know each other’s blogs and the bloggers behind must be a surreal experience. Timetravel would be an amazing thing to do and I hope that comes true one day 😀
So do I, Mabel. I’ve always been fascinated by time-travel. However, whenever I’ve included it in my stories, it usually means there’s trouble ahead. 😀 However, meeting other bloggers face to face is one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I hope you get to do it one day. 😀
The video is awesome, Hugh…. Great to see some bloggers I regularly check out and it seems you had a blast, for sure. Thank you for sharing and for saying hi to all your followers, by the way. 😉 And you are such a gentleman. Truly! … 🙂
Thank you, Aquileana. What lovely compliments. I enjoyed being the cameraman for the day. I had great fun filming everyone and asking them questions. I hope you’ll be able to join us at a Bloggers Bash one day?
I´d love to be there, obviously! (Who knows?)… 😉 Thank YOU, Hugh… wishing you the best! 😀
Your video and pics…so much fun, Hugh. Thanks for sharing your special day with all of us. Wish we could all be there. You capture the sheer joy of it all. Many congrats to all the attendees and winners…I look forward to catching up on all the posts.
Thanks, Van. I’m so pleased I captured the atmosphere of the day. All that noise in the background were bloggers having a great time. Introverts? What introverts? 😀
Agreed. Introvert + Introvert = ????
