Flipboard is a social media platform where users create their own virtual magazines and add articles to them.

With over 100 million users, it’s no wonder why I have seen a sudden upsurge of traffic on my blog from Flipboard.
The following figures speak for themselves, although I should add that I’ve only started using Flipboard within the last few days. Up until then, Flipboard was nowhere in sight on this list.

The good folk at Flipboard have been in contact with me after I published my article on how to add a Flipshare sharing button to a WordPress blog. Click here to read the post.
They thanked me for posting the article and asked if there was anything else they could help with. I asked them for a link to an article that detailed how Flipboard works. They kindly sent me a link to a page that shows new users how to use Flipboard.
Click on the following source link and start ‘flipping’.

Not only that, but they also sent me a link to their YouTube channel where you can watch several excellent videos on how to use Flipboard.
Janice Wald, at Mostly Blogging, has also published several articles on Flipboard. Click on the link below to read her article on how to get more traffic to your blog from Flipboard.

This is a great post which I’ve just found. Flipboard is something I signed up to ages ago but with one thing & another I just haven’t had the time to really understand it properly so thank you for this, I’ll be revisiting this in a few weeks when hopefully some of that ‘Time’ comes my way 😏😊
You’re welcome, Sam. I’ve had some great results from Flipboard and over 1,000 referrals from it to my blog. The more you use it, the more traffic it brings you.
Thanks, Hugh, here is mine https://flipboard.com/profile
That link seems to lead to my own profile. Can you resend it?
Here it is Hugh https://flipboard.com/@SuzanneVickery
Thank you. Am now following you on Flipboard, Suzanne. 😀
Thanks, Hugh! This is awesome – so easy to follow and figure out what to do.
You’re very welcome, Ruth. And thank you for the lovely comments.
Have a great weekend.
Followed your easy peasy directions to the letter. You made doing this as easy as, well, Flipping! Thank you ever so.
You’re most welcome. I’m so pleased that my instructions were easy to follow. I sometimes wonder if I’ve written them correctly. Happy ‘flipping’.
Hi Hugh,
You mentioned in a comment to me today your guest author Ivan had a theory about Flipboard traffic. Can I see the article please? Can I have the link? Thanks,
Janice
Hi Janice,
It was in a comment Ivan made to a blogger on his post. Here’s a link to his guest post. It was more to do with the more you use Flipboard, the more results you will get. I certainly agree with that.

Sounds pretty cool and maybe I can try this too 🙂 Thanks Hugh!
Give it a go, Parul. It’s one of the best things I’ve done. 😀
Hi Hugh, I am going to feature your post on The Blogger’s Pit Stop on Friday. Congratulations.
Kathleen
Blogger’s Pit Stop
That’s wonderful news, thank you so much, Kathleen. 😀
Hi Hugh!
Thanks for bringing your post to the Blogger’s Pit Stop last week. Thank you again for linking to me in your article and all your support.
Janice, Pit Stop Crew
You’re very welcome, Janice.
Question: Nothing to do with Flipboard:
I notice your site is https. Was it difficult to change over from http?
Did you follow instructions you can send me?
What happened to your articles starting with http ?
Thanks,
Janice
Hi, Janice. My blog is a WordPress.Com blog, so they did it all for me. They published a post about the change, quite a while ago, informing their users that they’d be doing all the work and that we wouldn’t notice any difference (apart from the extra ‘s’ in the address bar). I checked my older posts and they are also all showing that extra ‘s’ in the address bar.
Thanks!
Thanks for letting me know.
You’re welcome, Janice.

Flipboard is great isn’t it! I’m not using it so much as a way to get more views but more of a curation tool for my music blog. There’s so many great music blogs and sites out there that I thought it would be a good idea to gather all the articles I am interested from across them all into one magazine. That way if there are others out there who have similar tastes to me then they can find all these good articles in one place. You can flipping see it here 🙂 https://flipboard.com/@popandtalk/talk-about-pop-music-8hugqhl1y
Thanks for leaving your Flipboard details for Talk About Pop Music, Steve. I’ve just followed you over there.
I’ve got a music magazine as well, so I’ll start adding some of your music posts to it. And, yes, I agree. Flipboard is a great way to bring lots of interesting articles altogether into one place. I’ve done that with a ‘smart’ blogging magazine.
Fab! I tried with the smart magazine but, correct me if I’m wrong, that can’t be made public?
You can share smart magazines by embedding them on your website, on Facebook, Twitter, or by email, and any articles within them can be flipped into your public magazines. Click on the envelope symbol when you hover your mouse over the magazine and it will show you the sharing options.
Thanks Hugh, good to flipping know 🙂
You are the man with the mostest, Hugh. I have heard of it in the way you listen and it goes out the other ear. Thank you for posting in Networking Bloggers, or thank Terri. It caught my eye and I came straight over. You have some impressive statistics. I’m going to give it a whirl. Thanks again.
It must have been Terri that posted it to Networking Bloggers, Marsha. Unfortunately, I’ve had lots of problems with my Facebook account and, yesterday, Facebook had to delete my account because they could not fix the problems I was having. That means I’m going to have to create a brand new account and start all over again. 🙄
If you do join Flipboard, then don’t forget to let us know your account details so we can follow your magazines.
Oh, no! I’m behind on yet another new social media platform! ha-ha- No, really — thanks for this information. I’m going to explore flipboard to see if it will help to increase page views for my blog. Meanwhile, I’m pinning this post to Pinterest for future reference, because I’m a dinosaur(?)
Thanks so much for pinning me, Carol.😀 I hope you’ll have as much enjoyment with Flipboard as I’ve been having.

Here is a great post from the Hugh’s Views and News blog on using Flipboard.
Great info, so awesome they reached out to you! My flipboard is https://flipboard.com/@shopgirlano9j3v/shop-girl-anonymous-rtnbsqmry adding you now!
Thank you. I’ve just followed you over on Flipboard. Happy ‘flipping’.
I adore Flipboard – I like the way the posts are presented – it’s a cross between Pinterest and Stumbleupon, taking the best bits of each! 😊
I like to share posts onto Flipboard too that I’ve come across on other sites etc not just those in my newsfeed 😊
Great to hear, Linda. I do the same and share blog posts onto Flipboard, plus any other interesting articles I come across. I’ve been amazed at the great articles I’ve found. I now have larger font on my iPhone thanks to an article I found on Flipboard. 😎
What a great response from Flipboard, Hugh! I have tried using flipboard but I’ve not done much with it. Tbh I have reached saturation point with social media and feel like doing away with all of it! Oh for a quiet life! Great post… but I’m still not getting email notifications when you post, which is weird as you are set to instant. Luckily I saw this on fb. Xxx
Hi, Ali. I know what you mean about social media saturation. The experts say to have a maximum of three and to concentrate on them. It’s good advice and I’ve ended up deleting some of my social media accounts that I was not using or were not bringing in any/little traffic to my blog. I felt really good after deleting those accounts.
As you know, I’ve not had access to Facebook for nearly a week now, and it looks as if they are going to delete my account and I have to start again 😱
Thank you to whoever posted this post to Facebook. I’ve still learning about Flipboard, but am falling in love with it.
xx
Thats good advice, Hugh. I learn so much from you! 😊
My mother always said I should have been a teacher 🙄
This sounds interesting a new one to explore…
Yes, it is, Marje. I’m learning lots about this new social media platform and am enjoying the whole experience.
That’s great Hugh. Not long to the BB see you soon! Xx
