Look Who’s Got Christmas All Wrapped Up!

I’ve always been an early bird, even when it comes to Christmas. Shopping in the summer sales for Christmas gifts is a hit with me. But I’m not here to talk about myself today (well, not a lot, anyway). No, I’m here to talk about some of you.

Christmas Decorations

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who has visited, commented, reblogged, shared, liked and taken the time to visit Hugh’s Views And News. There are so many of you I’d like to mention, but this post would be the longest post ever if I did that, so I’m going to mention a few.

First up, Robbie, from Robbie’s Inspiration, who was the winner of a lovely book donated by Charles Waugh at the recent Glimpses prelaunch blog party. Congratulations Robbie and thank you, Charles, for donating the prize of your book.

Sue Vincent’s blog, Sue Vincent’s Daily Echo, has been nominated for the UK blog awards for 2017. Congratulations to Sue (and Ani) for being nominated. Voting closes at 10:00 (GMT) on 19th December so, at the time of writing this, there’s still time to go on over and give Sue and Ani your vote. Click here for all the details.

There are a few blog parties currently on the circuit, one of which is over at Donna’s blog, Yadadarcyyada. Teagan, over at Teagan’s Books, has just launched a new book and is celebrating by holding a 1920s themed blog party. And today, Marje, over at Kyrosmagica, is holding a Xmas ice skating blog party. So, if you’re up for a party over the Christmas period, then get yourself over to these blog parties and introduce yourself and your blog to all the other blogger guests already there. Blogging parties are a great way to get followers and meet lots of other bloggers.

I’ve not known author Tina Frisco very long, but she has already been fantastic in promoting Glimpses and my writing. Tina is another author who has just launched a new book, VAMPYRIE: Origin Of The Vampire, which is now available to buy on Amazon. Thank you to Tina for all the support she has given to me over the last few months. I wish you lots of success with your new book.

Steve, over at Steve Says…, was very kind in inviting me over to his radio studio last Friday evening. We talked about all sorts of stuff between playing my top five festive and non-festive tunes. There’s now a podcast available of the show, so if you’re up for listening to some silliness over the festive season then grab yourself a drink and have a listen to the show. I’m going to be taking a bit of a blogging break in the run up to Christmas. However, I will be back in time to witness Big Ben doing his stuff and welcoming in the New Year! Before then, watch out for a post I’ll be publishing tomorrow which will contain a clue to the anagram riddle I’ve set in my Glimpses Competition.

Finally, I couldn’t finish without mentioning this lovely quote from Brigid, which I found over at her blog, Watching The Daisies. It speaks for itself and reminds us all to take a well-earned break. Click here to see the quote.

  1. That is a lovely post, Hugh. I agree that we have some wonderful, supportive bloggers in our community and it really is a delight to be a part of it.

    1. Thanks, Judy. You don’t know how nervous I was before going on the air. I guess it was the same when you went on Annette’s show? However, Steve made me feel very at home and we soon settled into our Celtic sense of humour. It was great fun to do, but the time went so quick.

Yes, the Blogging community is amazing. It was impossible for me to list everyone, but I think you and all of them know who you all are. You’re all very special to me and much of what I have done since February 2014 is all down to the blogging community.

    1. I agree, Debby. It’s something I’ll be doing from tomorrow until just after Christmas.🎄 But, who knows? Maybe I’ll sneak in just for a quick look? 😀 I’ll have the iPad with me over Christmas, so while the family sleeps off the food and drink…
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and the family.

  6. Lol, I’m still listening to you and Steve! I love it, and strange as this may sound, you sound exactly like I thought you might. 🙂 Loving the song choices, but my fav is Sinead O’Connor’s Silent Night. So I’m thinking you should now start a radio show!!!! 🙂 Fantastic. I’m learning more about you. Fascinating you write your stories from the end! Okay, still listening. 🙂 ❤

    1. Thanks so much for listening to the show, Debby. So you got my voice right? That means you’re not going to be shocked when you finally get to listen to it in person at the Bloggers Bash – phew! 😀 As for starting my own radio show, I think I’ll leave that to Steve, although I did DJ at a nightclub for a few years back in the 90s. Those were the days, spinning the discs and getting a packed dance floor. Magic days.😀

    1. I’m so sorry, but I don’t seem to have that post, Noelle. I was having problems with WordPress notifications last week so I can only presume the same problem could be back – sigh. I’ll be over to check out the post. In the meantime, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family. 🎄
