  1. Tillie Olsen wrote a short story called As I Stand Here Ironing. If you can find it, read it. A mother who has had “the phone call” from her daughter’s teacher (an Oh, God moment). She needs your view.

  2. Nice view…I won’t send you mine 😉 Ironing though not anybodies favorite chore so a lovely view helps…. well that’s what I tell myself…ha ha
On another point Hugh which post was it which told us how to hide all but the first few words of our post…I thought I had done it ( but it didn’t work) and I have looked but can’t remember which post …Help! Have a lovely day 🙂

      1. Thank you Hugh…I have written a sort of test post but still dioesn’t look like it has worked and followed your info to a T. There are tick boxes below that before the save BUTTON so not sure if it has anything to do with that??? I amsure I have gremlins here :)…

        1. It’s worked fine, Carol. I’ve had a WordPress email notification for your latest post and it’s showing only what it should. I’m going to try and attach a photo of the email I got, so you can see for yourself. Here goes.

If the photo has downloaded then you’ll see the ‘read more of this post’ at the bottom of the email. I now have to click on that link to read the whole post, which means visiting your blog. Before, I could read all of your posts just by reading the emails (and not having to visit your blog).

        1. All this made me do it… my bag is empty I’ve yet to put( instruments of torture) board &iron away. But three hours sorted it. Feeling… *waves hands* like I was forced by my own conscience . “Humpf”

        2. Not as if you’d tell… not if you were a super hero🎵🎼🎶🎵🎤🎼🎶🎵🎤〽👡 cue music for hero’s p.s. haven’t a cape so you got Cinderellas shoe… get my drift. Now one must leave this place of horror hope to see you at my place soon 😉😉

  3. Your post made me feel/admit I’m lazy… ironingboard to me is a filthy word, a chore to be left, a thing to have nightmares about. My husband asked if it was a new ornament or a piece of modern art… it has now been sitting ungracefully with a basket of ironing in the lounge for three weeks; waiting… waiting for me. 😯😢
