As I haven’t participated in any photo challenges lately, here are some photos for Cee’s ‘Which Way Photo Challenge.’
Cee says – This challenge is all about capturing the roads, walks, trails, rails, steps, etc. we move from one place to another on. You can walk on them, climb them, drive them, ride on them, as long as the specific way is visible. Any angle of a bridge is acceptable as are any signs.
So, how do you think I did?
I’ve just got my book back from Esther Newton, my Editor, so I’m going to be very quiet again over the next few weeks. I’ll try and drop by some of your blogs during tea and Jaffa Cakes breaks.
See you all again soon.

Great images here! The perspective of the 3rd is remarkable. The first one is my favorite. 🙂
Thank you so much, Amy. The first one is also my favourite. 😀
Wonderful series, the perspective you used really makes each image so engaging.
Thank you, Charlie. I only started getting an interest in photography when I started to blog a few years ago. Now, I’m hooked.
Congratulations! I have selected your post to be featured on Cee’s Which Way Photo Challenge.

I sure hope you are having a fun week!
Thanks so much, Cee. I’m thrilled to have been featured. 😀
Hi Hugh, I think you did an excellent job capturing which ways. 😀
Thank you, Cee. It was great to come back to participating in a photo challenge. I’ve not had a go for ages.
Hi Hugh, great photos, I need to catch up, did I hear ‘book’? Have you finally written it?
Hi, Elizabeth. Great to see. Hope you had a great Summer and enjoyed your blogging break?
Yes, I’ve been on a blogging break (and still am) while getting my short story collection ready for publication. Still working hard on it, but almost finished now.
Some great shots again, Hugh. Is that Mumble’s castle? I remember visiting that many moons ago.
Good luck with the book. I’m excited for you. x
Hi Dorne. No, that is what remains of Crickhowell Castle. I have taken some shots of the castle in The Mumbles and I will post them soon. 😀
Rightiho! Thanks. x
Very nice photos, Hugh. If I were forced to pick favorite(s), it would probably be the castle shot and the (brick?) mountain trail one. Hope the edits are going wonderfully. Have a happy & creative week!
Thanks, Leigh. I’ve been taking lots more photos which I will display on the blog once I’m back full time.
The editing is going well. I’m in the middle of putting right the mistakes my editor pointed out or asked me to make. Once it’s finished, the book will go back to her for its final check.
Yeah; sounds like you’re in the final stages. Maybe it will come out before December then?! That will be a nice holiday surprise!
I’m one of those people who always likes plenty of time in front of me when working to a deadline. It may be ready in October, but I’m still planning on a December launch.
I like working that way, too, which is probably why I get frustrated pretty frequently. This is only for myself; you seem lots more cheerful & resilient through trial and tribulation, Hugh! How do you do it?! 🙂
I’m not sure, Leigh. When I’m not up against time I always stay relaxed and cheerful. If we get to November 30th and the book is still nowhere near ready, then I’ll be a completely different person. 😱
I’ve just finished rewriting The Truth App. It will be interesting to see what you think when all ten parts become one in the book.
Very intriguing photos, Hugh. Good to see you back in the blogosphere! Mega hugs.
A brief return, Teagan. I’m off again now, going over the Editor’s edits. 😀
Awesome photos Hugh, and MAJOR good luck for your edits 😀
Cheers, Sacha. I started them yesterday. Hopefully, will have them finished by end of next week before they back to Esther.
Great photos, Hugh. I definitely think you have met the challenge well. The first two are my favourites – the village street: we have nothing like that here; and the road by the (dilapidated) castle: nothing like that here either. They look exquisitely romantic.
Best wishes for the edit of your book. How exciting! Enjoy those Jaffa Cakes – not too many now!
Thanks, Norah. I’ll have to take some photos for you. I’ve lacked in participating in these challenges since I started getting my book ready, but I will get back to them. We are so lucky to be living near places like these here in Wales. It truly is a beautiful place. There’s so much I’ve not snapped yet.
Have a lovely weekend.
Thanks, Hugh. It certainly looks like a beautiful place. I hope your book work is going well. You enjoy the weekend too!
Love the photos.
Thank you very much. 😀
You have taken some wonderful photos Hugh, as always! Good luck with the book editing, and don’t scoff all the Jaffa Cakes 🙂
I need to go shopping. Thanks, Judy. See you once the book editing is done. 😀
Step away from the JAffa cake aisle!! Looking forward to seeing you when you come back! 🙂
Like the pics very much. Have a Jaffa Cake for me.
JP
I’ve had a whole box. Thanks, JP.
Hmmm… I wonder where they lead? I love pictures like that, they always make me wonder where the road/ track/ path goes to. I think the same when I come across a little hidden gate or path when I’m out walking, but I’m rarely brave enough to try them alone. I’m such a coward! 😁
Ooh! the stories there, Ali. Once my book is ready, I’m going to be taking a look at lots of photos across WordPress in the hope I’ll get some inspiration for new stories. I’ve six new ones in the bag so far – all for the book 2.
Wow! You are well on your way to completing book 2, Hugh! You are amazing! All this creativity is bubbling up inside you and overflowing. I think someone left the tap on, Hugh!
Thanks, Ali. Well, I’ve got six stories for the 2nd book so far. The first one has 28, so I have got a long way to go yet, but it’s a great start. 😀
You have indeed, well done!
Your photos are beautiful and intriguing as always Hugh. You go guy! I’m excited for your book. ❤
Thank you, Debby.
xx
Very good takes, Hugh!
Thank you, Erika. 😀
My pleasure, Hugh 😃
I love the long path towards the hills but I think the railway tracks capture the “which way” theme the best. Congrats on getting the edits back – I’ll be interested to hear your reactions to them. Can be daunting. Hope not!
I’m quite nervous about them, Jan. 😀 I feel like I did when I was at school and my exam results were given to me in a plain brown envelope. That was a long time ago, but this has brought back that feeling.
Exquisite photos, Hugh! I sure hope you win – something! And best of luck with your new book 🙂
These challenges are all about fun, Tina, but I may get lucky and be featured when Cee announces the results. 😀
I’m very excited about the book. It’s been a lot of hard work, but I’ve enjoyed it very much.
Reblogged this on Smorgasbord – Variety is the spice of life and commented:
Hugh Roberts has popped in to see us all while his new book was in the hands of his editor.. He has shared some lovely photographs in response to Cee’s Which Way Photo Challenge.. head over and say Hi to Hugh as he is off again to finish he book.. looking forward to showcasing that Hugh.. x
Your photographs are perfect for the theme of which way!! My favourite is the brick road (which is almost yellow!)
The Yellow Brick Road is one I’ve always dreamt of taking, Darlene. Hopefully one day. 😀
Thank you so much.
I love all these photos Hugh!
Thank you, Willow. You can have one of my Jaffa Cakes for saying that. In fact, as you’re first, you can have two. 😀
