Books, Books, Glorious Books!

Last weekend, I gave you Five Blog Posts I Recommend You Read. This weekend it’s all about books! Check out these five posts and consider downloading at least one book from any of these five wonderful authors. Not only will you make their weekend, but you’ll have a fantastic book ready to read.

Book case

First up, is Sally Cronin, who I’ve often referred to as one of the jewels in the crown of the blogging world. Sally has written many books and by clicking on the link above ‘Tales From The Garden’ you’ll be taken to her post that gives information on some of them as well as some promotional videos. There’s something for everyone in this collection, so go check them out now.

Next up is Eloise De Sousa. I was a beta reader for her new book, ‘The Iron Pendulum‘ and having also read some of her other books, was amazed by how she can switch between genres so easily and still write all of them so well. Eloise’s ten-year-old daughter also put a fabulous promotional video together for the book, which will have you jumping out of your skin. This young lady is very talented. Check the video out by clicking the link below.

Up next, Janice Spina who this week announced that the third in the series of her Davey & Derek Junior Detectives books is now available to buy. Entitled ‘The Case Of The Magical Ivory Elephant‘ these series of books make great reading for everyone, not just children. I recently read and reviewed the first book in the series ‘The Case Of The Missing Cell Phone.’ You can read my review by clicking here.

Over to a book cover reveal that had my eyes popping out of my head this week. Aimer Boyz has just revealed a book cover that is going to be turning a lot of heads. The book, ‘A Little Blood’, is going to appeal to those who enjoy reading  vampire stories and will be available in the near future. You can check out the book cover for ‘A Little Blood’ by clicking on the link above the book cover for ‘Fireworks.’ In the meantime, Aimer’s first book, ‘Fireworks’, got me hot and sweaty when I read and reviewed it last year. You can read my review by clicking here.

Last, but by no means least, it’s over to John W. Howell who is about to launch his new book, ‘Our Justice.’ Now, I don’t know why, but when John published a post this week asking for some volunteers to help him launch the book, I was immediately attracted to the front cover of the book. I wonder if anyone can guess what it was that attracted me?Click on the link above ‘My GRL’ to see the book cover for ‘Our Justice’. Like Sally, John already has a few published books under his belt. He has a great sense of humour and never fails to make me laugh when I read his blog posts, which you can read by clicking here.

Don’t forget to write a review if you read any of the books. For authors, receiving a book review is like receiving a Christmas present.

I’m pleased to announce that my first short story collection will be published on Saturday 10th December 2016. I’ll be revealing more details over the coming months.

  1. Hugh, I already have Sally’s and Janice;s books in my TBR, but haven’t done much to whittle down the pile this summer with so much going on here. I am looking forward to reading them at some future time. I will check out the others.

    1. Hi Debby. Yes, I agree. I was inspired to write this post after reading Sally’s book post from last week. Then, when I saw the cover reveals, new book launches, and that promo video that Eloise’s daughter did for her book, I had to include them. I wrote my review as well (thanks to you). 😀
Have a lovely weekend. I’m back to writing some new short stories next week, having taken this week off from writing them.

      1. Thanks Hugh. Looking forward to your stories again. Have you already completed your ‘blurb’ for your book. That’s where I’m at. It can sometimes be harder than writing the book, lol. 🙂 xo

        1. It took me at least 52 attempts to write a synopsis for the book, Debby It’s currently with my Editor. Was one of the hardest things I’ve had to write. I think I could have written an Opera with far more ease 😀

  2. Reblogged this on jemsbooks and commented:
The magnificent blogger, writer, and soon to be author shares some of his favorite books and authors on his site. I am honored to be among them! Thank you, dear Hugh! Hugs xx
Please check out Hugh’s wonderful blog and fill up your library.

  3. Thank you, Hugh, for sharing my book! You are so sweet! Appreciate your kind support! It was likea present when I opened your site to see my book and those of my favorite fellow authors like Sally and John. I will check out the others too.

Excited about your book! Can’t wait to see it! Best wishes to you and hugs for all that you do for me! ❤️ Xx

    1. Very, very welcome, Sally. I saw your book post last week and it gave me the idea for this post, so thank you for that. 😀 I hope you get some visitors and some sales from this post.
Still a lot to do on my book, but am making great progress. Fingers crossed I’ll have everything ready by the end of September.
      Have a lovely weekend.

  4. Thanks for the recommendations, Hugh. I must admit that I purchased Tales from the Garden some time ago but haven’t read it yet. Must get to it. Am about to download Janice Spina’s latest one too, but still have a few waiting to be read (or finished) first.

    1. You’re welcome, Norah. I read ‘Tales From The Gaden’ on Sally’s Blog before she decided to put the stories into a book and publish them. They were sure winners as soon as I and many others started reading them on her blog. I now have the book as well. 😀
I loved Janice’s first book in the series. I hope there are many more to come to the series.
