Meet (Some Of) The Bloggers (On Video) From The 2nd Annual Bloggers Bash

If you haven’t heard about The Annual Bloggers Bash yet, then where have you been?

I’d like to thank everyone who came along to the event and for making it the huge success it was. Last year, just over 20 of you attended. This year it was just over 50, and boy, what a great day it was. I only wish I could have magically got everyone there who wanted to come so they could have shared the magic of the day. New friendships were formed, lots of hugs were in evidence and everybody met up with online blogging friends they’ve been wanting to meet for a long time.

There have been lots of posts all over WordPress about the event and I’ve been busy reading, tweeting and sharing them across social media. Where possible, I’ve added all the posts to my Bloggers Bash Pinterest board.

When Sacha Black first came up with the idea of a Bloggers Bash and I was asked by her to become a Bloggers Bash committee member (along with Geoff Le Pard and Ali Isaac ) I was extremely proud that she had considered me. These three bloggers have become a big part of my life and, although it’s been hard work putting on the two events that have so far happened, I have loved every single second.

Geoff Le Pard, Sacha Black, and Ali Isaac.
From the top: Geoff Le Pard, Sacha Black, and Ali Isaac.

From what I have read, this year’s event was an even bigger success than the first Bloggers Bash held in 2015. That’s all down, not only to Sacha and the committee, but to all those that came along.

We are already planning The 3rd Annual Bloggers Bash which is being held on Saturday 10th June 2017, so put it in the diary now and make sure you come along. Of course, we’ll be letting you know details as soon as they become available.

If I had one regret about the day it was that I did not get around to filming everyone that attended. My fault really as I should have let everyone know when announcing the awards, so my sincere apologies to those I never got around to filming. Next year, I promise, we’ll have a better plan in place to capture you all. I put it down to being overwhelmed with all the hugs I was getting.

Now on to the video I’ve put together of those I did manage to capture. You’ll have to excuse the odd moment when I seemed to be aiming the camera at the floor rather than the blogger, but thank you to everyone for allowing me to film them.

That’s not quite it from me. There’s more film of the event which I’ll publish in another post at the weekend when I’ll also be mentioning some of the Bloggers that I did manage to have a chat with.

  1. I had so much fun meeting everyone at the Bash. Thanks Hugh for this great video. It’s my first time on youtube. I guess it’s my 15 minutes of fame. I can’t wait for next year.

      1. Lets hope so Hugh, I’m being made redundant later in the year so may have some time to travel. I’ll keep the date of the next bash in my diary just in case. 😊

  2. What an event, Hugh. Good job on putting it together with the rest of the committee. Amazing turnout and lovely to see everyone supporting each other and being so nice to each other. Love the video you put together, and everyone didn’t really look camera 😀 Such a cozy and charming little venue too. Would love to attend a Bloggers Bash myself some day. Like some of the bloggers, maybe one day I will travel there just to attend it…and have a bit of a holiday in London too while at it 😀 Looking forward to seeing next year’s event and good luck with it.

    1. Thank you, Mabel. It was hard work, but well worth all the effort the committee put in. Everyone seemed to be having a great time and it was an amazing experience meeting blogging friends face to face for the first time.
I do hope you’ll be able to make it over to the next Bloggers Bash. Many are thinking of coming and are tieing it in with a holiday in London and the UK. It was a wonderful day and like everybody else I’m already looking forward to next year’s event.

      1. Everyone looked like they had a smile on their face. There is something so communal about this blogging community here. Everyone supports each other and is so encouraging – and everyone is there for each other.

Tieing in visiting your part of the world and coming to the next Bloggers Bash sounds like a great idea which I shall keep at the back of my mind 😀

  3. Wonderful job! So glad I brought chocolate for you all — the best way to shut me up and stop me from rambling! It was a great capture of a lovely event. Thank you, Hugh!

    1. Thank you so much for the chocolate, Cynthia. I’ve not opened it yet, but I will get around to doing so very soon. 😃
It was lovely to meet you and thank you for joining us at the Bloggers Bash. I hope we see you again at next year’s event?

  4. Amazing video, brought the excitement flooding back. What a great day thankyou Hugh and the gang😊

  5. Hugh, thanks so much for this video. It was wonderful to see so many of my blogging friends, yourself included. I wish I could have been there. It looks as though you had a fantastic turnout.

  6. Fantastic job Hugh! Thanks for interviewing so many bloggers. It was lovely hearing them speak and putting faces to some names, making the online experience feel so much more real.
I also had to laugh at the fact that so many wordsmiths seemed lost for words when the camera flashed in their face. I know as much as I can gab, I wouldn’t have done the same, lol. We all really need to get out more often!
What a wonderful time, and I’m so hoping to be there next year! ❤ xo

    1. They were very brave, Debby. Having me shove my iPhone towards them and say “speak to Hugh’s phone” they all did a great job. When Graeme filmed me, I was almost lost for words. I could have also said a lot more once I thought about it, but I’m just very glad that they all came out as great sports and had a great time. Yes, we all need to get out a lot more. 😃
Many congratulations on your 3rd place for Best Dressed Blog. Very well deserved. I’m so excited to hear that you’re planning on coming over for next year’s Bloggers Bash. I hope, as part of your trip, you’ll come and visit Toby, John and me in Swansea? You’re most welcome and come and stay.

      1. You are most kind my friend. I would love to visit you guys! And thank you for acknowledging my third place run. I was in great company.
As you well know, this year has been a trying one for me. I shall be monitoring hubby’s health maintenance throughout the year to know if I’ll feel confident enough to leave him for a week or so to cross the pond. If I’m secure with his progress, I will definitely be there.
Incidentally, my best friend lives in Kent, near Canterbury, I know that’s a 2 hour and a bit train ride into London, but how far are you from Kent? ❤

        1. We are the other side of the UK from Kent, Debby. You’d have to travel back into London and then it’s a 3-hour train journey to Swansea. I hope Hubby is feeling a lot better and that you get to Arizona later in the year.

        2. Thanks for sending your well wishes Hugh. He’s doing so much better, albeit very thin, and not as energetic as he once was, but so much to be grateful for.
I’m hoping to get to a few places Hugh. Everything revolves health at the moment. Crossing fingers. 🙂

  7. Wow. Such a great video scrapbook, Hugh. You managed to capture some of the energy in that room.☺ It’s always a treat to meet face to face with a much loved blogger, can’t imagine the joy of meeting so many at once. Bravo on such a great event. Loved seeing/hearing them all. Hope to be there in person one day. Fingers crossed. Hugs to all. Van ❤️ 💛 💙 💜

    1. At one stage I thought nobody would be able to hear what each of the Bloggers was saying, Van, because the room was so buzzing. Filming was all done on my iPhone6, but I may invest in a proper video camera for next year’s event.
I’m just so glad we filmed the event so that those that could not attend could feel a part of it. It was an overwhelming day, especially with meeting Bloggers in person for the first time. I managed to chat to a few during my busy filming schedule, but there were many I never had the chance to properly talk with.
I do hope you’ll be able to join us at the Bloggers Bash one year very soon.

  8. It’d be very easy to repeat everything that’s been said before, so as I like being easy (did I really say that?), I will. Great to see so many people enthusing about blogging and being at the Bash. Great to see some of the people I didn’t actually get to talk to – it needs to go on much longer next time! – as well as being reminded of some I did. A great job of capturing everyone on film.
But you really must take some time out just to chill next year. I’ll even do some of the filming for you, so you can get a break. And then we’ll have time to talk Gerry Anderson stuff!
Thanks again, Hugh. This really is brilliant

    1. That’s so kind of your, Graeme, but you’re going to have to ask Boss Sacha Black if I can have time off. 😃 Regardless, I think the four of us did manage to get some mingling time in, but I do regret not having talked to you about Gerry Anderson and Space 1999! I can’t find anybody else to talk to me about it. Even though I was on duty, I loved every minute of the event and, like everyone else, can’t wait until next year’s Bloggers Bash (Sacha already has us planning it).
Thanks so much for recording me. I completely forgot about it last year.

  9. Wonderful, Hugh. I loved every minute of the Bash, meeting lots of people I’ve ‘known’ for so long. I didn’t manage to speak to at least half the bloggers so I’ll be back next year. Although, there will be even more bloggers next time so I still won’t manage to chat to them all!
Thanks to you and all the team for organising such a fantastic event.

    1. That’s great to hear, Mary. It was so wonderful to meet you and I’m glad we were able to chat (what with my video duties, etc). We’re already planning next year’s event and I’m sure details will be announced just as soon as we have something to tell you all.
Thank you so much for joining us and I’m so pleased you had a fantastic day.

  10. What a delightful video Hugh. Thanks so much for recording it for those of us who couldn’t be there.
Oh, I followed you on Pinterest. I didn’t realize you had boards there. I looooove Pinterest. Mega hugs!

    1. Thank you, Teagan. I’m so glad we decided to record a video of the event for all of you where it was impossible to attend.
I have no idea how Pinterest works but thank you for following me on it. 😃
      Hugs to you.

  11. Oh my gosh! So many people I “know” from the blogosphere! It’s wonderful to put a face to the words. 🙂 I wish I could have been there but *waves* hello, all! And thanks for sharing this, Hugh. 💖

      1. I hope to make it next year. But, if I go, I’m going to hide behind Geoff, too. Sherri and I have already discussed this. Now we need to clear it with Geoff. Or I could hide behind Sacha (as long as she doesn’t step on my toes with those spike heels!) 😉 Thanks, Hugh!

  12. OMG what a great day we had! I loved it I just wished I had been braved and spoke to more people. Watch out next year I am going to not only fly solo I am going to chat with everyone! Thanks to the committee and to Hugh too for being so welcoming! Love to all the great people I met! xxx

  13. Absolutely loved this video HUGH! Thank you so much for letting me hear the voices of so many dear ones I love to follow and read. I wish you all lived in Colorado! Hugs and love to you! ❤

  14. Hugh! What an awesome video! !!
Reliving Saturday watching it realising there were so many others I couldn’t chat to! Roll on 10th June 2017!!!
(Note to self. .. do NOT stand in front of a window next it Hugh waves camera at me!)

    1. So sorry about not asking you to move away from the window, Ritu. That’s something I’ve learned for next year’s Bash (providing Sacha’s allows me to video again). Thank you for agreeing to speak to the phone. You were all amazing and did a great job. I hope you’ll relive the day many times by watching the video. 😃

      1. Oh I have watched it twice already, and made my kids watch it too! 🙂 You were fantastic Hugh, I was far to excited to think about where I was standing, but then you already know that!

        1. Can I be your overenthusiastic interviewer with a mic, asking bloggers questions???? Pleeeease???!!!! 😜

        2. I’m there, right beside you already!!! But let me know for definite so I can drop, like, 2 stone!! 😂😘

        3. Will do, Ritu. It will depend on numbers etc. We’ll have some idea soon because we need to decide on a venue and that will dictate how many we can hold at the event.
BTW – You looked fabulous on Saturday.

        4. I’ll have to sing it every night so I remember the whole thing! I’m still voting for karaoke as of the entertainment 😜

  15. Hugh, thank you so much, this is such a wonderful video, I absolutely loved seeing everyone again and am really looking forward to part two. What a fantastic reminder of a fantastic day. And that photo of Geoffle, Sacha and Ali is a classic, their expressions priceless! Thanks for letting me hide behind Geoffle as my mouthpiece lol! Makes me realise though that there were several wonderful bloggers I didn’t much of a chance to talk to. Already excited about next year’s Bash to put that right! Can’t wait to see you and everyone else again! 🙂 xx

    1. Isn’t it great, Sherri? Geoff and you were certainly the stars and I loved filming it. It was so funny. I’m booking you two for next year. 😃
I think all of us missed people we wanted to chat with. There was so much going on and everyone seemed to be having such a great time. Still, there’s always next year. 😃

      1. You did a wonderful job Hugh, just wonderful!! Haha…hear that Geoffle? A double act, LOL 😀 Thank goodness for ‘that’ beard is all I can say!!! The entire day was so much fun. Bring it on for next year…can’t wait!! 🙂 xx

  16. I love this video, Hugh! Aw can’t believe it’s all over! What a lovely bunch of Bloggers! I had the best job on the day as I got to meet EVERYONE as they arrived. Can’t wait to do it all over again next year! 😁
