Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge: Week 26 – Distance

I often take photos of objects that are way off in the distance and end up deleting the photo because the object is so far away it doesn’t really show up very well.

Then I take photos like this one which show exactly what it was I was focusing on.

Hugh's Weekly Photo Challenge: Week 26 - Distance

In this case I was aiming my trusty iPhone at the village of  Corfe Castle which I could see from where I was standing. It was a beautiful day and I had the ideal opportunity to capture most of the village.

For this week’s photo challenge take or choose a photo that shows an object that is in the distance. Maybe it’s a building or a wonderful view that contains an interesting object or scene that, although it is in the distance, shows up really well in the photo? Maybe you can spot where you are headed to from a plane or train and you’ve managed to capture it?

Want to join the fun? Here’s what you need to do.

1. Take or choose a photo that you’ve taken which defines Distance.
2. Create a new post on your blog entitled “Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge: Week 26 – ‘Distance’
3. Add the photo(s) you have taken to the post and tell us a little about what you are showing.
4. Create a pingback to this post or leave a link to your post in the comments section so other participants can view the post.

Last week’s challenge was all about music. It was a subject many of you said you love and I was so pleased with the results you produced. I had a very difficult choice in selecting five to showcase, but here they are.

Julz, at Julie Powell Photographer & Graphic Artist, came up with a different approach to the challenge and I was thrilled to see a certain logo amongst the photographs she added to her post.  Thanks for bringing back such lovely memories for me, Julz.

Srivi, at The Piscean Me, showed a musical instrument I’d never seen or heard of before. She was very kind to include a clip, in her comments, of what the instrument sounds like when being played. It was a wonderful sound to hear.

Steve, at Steve Says…, also took a different approach to the challenge. Ever had that situation when you think it’s too good to be true? In Steve’s case it was true, but he still got himself a great bargain.

Ericka, at A Quiet Girl’s Musings Of A World That Talks Too Much, took us all to some rock concerts. Unlike me, she got some great shots of the performers and sounds like she had a great time. Go and join her over on her blog and join in the great atmosphere these photos contain.

Cathy, at Between The Lines, came across an unusual musical object. Why was it unusual? Well, I’ve never come across one of these in my room when I’ve been away on holiday. I would have been tempted to try and fit it in my suitcase.

Thank you to everyone that entered photos for the challenge.

Entries for this week’s challenge are open until Monday 30th May 2016. Yes, you’ve two weeks for this challenge as I’m taking a few days break. I’ll showcase at least five entries when announcing the next challenge. Have fun!
