Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge: Week 12 – Games

You are not seeing things. This is not Hugh but his evil American counterpart, Ronovan of Ronovan Writes. Don’t fret, I’m here with permission this time. I’m the stand-in while Hugh gets settled in all comfy cozy like in his new digs by the sea. Anyone else hating him right now? Sigh, here I am in my man cave, AKA bedroom from oblivion, and he’s setting up shop near the beach.

Kay Sarah Kay Sarah they always say. Now on to the challenge this week.

Checker's Table by Ronovan Hester

I took this photo a few weeks ago at a mountain store near where I live. This is the scenic overlook area where you can casually while away time watching where a famous wirewalking patriarch did his act. The reason I took the photo is because this store and overlook area plays an important part in a Southern Romance I’ve written and have been working on for two years. I looked through several photos I took for research purposes and decided Games would be a nice challenge this week. You are lucky, just to the right of this picture is a wagon one can haul small amounts of hay in and be drawn by a single horse. It looks quite quaint the way they have used it. Perhaps I’ll share it on my blog another time when Hugh has a prompt it fits in with.

This week take a photo of something that has to do with games.

Want to join the fun? Here’s what you need to do.

1. Take a photo of something that gives you thoughts of Games.
2. Create a new post on your blog entitled “Hugh’s Photo Challenge: Week 12 – Games.”
3. Add the photo(s) you have taken to the post and tell us a little about what you are showing.
4. Create a pingback to this post or leave a link to your post in the comments section below so that other participants can view your post.

Not sure how to create a pingback? Click here for a step by step guide on how to create one.

As guest host I have to say a big WOW at the number of photographs! Now the part I hate the most, choosing 5 entries. For my own challenges I host, I just can’t do it. In other words, this has been excruciating. I enjoyed all the photos. I was amazed by what y’all came up with. I decided to go with those I felt did best following the prompt guidelines and had great photographs to go with them. As a Historian and Author, there were some that connected with me a lot. I hope I give you a nice selection of stories along with photography.

  1. Georgie, at Third Time Lucky!
  2. Creative Blog Mom
  3. Suzanne, at Suzanne Rogerson Fantasy Author
  4. Geoff, at TanGental
  5. The Only D800 In The Hameau

Entries for this week’s challenge are open until Monday 15th February 2016, and Hugh will showcase five entries when announcing the next challenge. I look forward to seeing what you all come up with. Have fun!

    1. I chose it because, not only for the image itself, which is unique and very nice, but also the story behind it. Nice photography with a nice back story makes for a great post. I felt you did the Hugh’s Challenge a great service.
