Champions Awards of 2015

If you take a look at the widgets on the sidebar of my blog you will notice a few things.  Firstly, Hugh’s Views And News is an award free blog. However, I have decided to make an exception and there are now two new widgets for awards my blog has recently received.

I took the decision in 2015 to go ‘award free.’  The various awards that circulate around WordPress are a great asset to bloggers and themselves bring their own rewards. I’ll be writing a blog post about awards as part of a new feature that I announced in my #weekendcooffeeshare post yesterday.

The first award ‘Top Bloggers To Follow In 2016’ was presented to me by Suzie of Suzie Speaks. Suzie’s blog was one of the very first blogs I followed when I first arrived on Planet Blog in February 2014. Her blogging tips posts were one of the instrumental things that helped launch me into the world of blogging. I had the pleasure of meeting Suzie at last year’s Bloggers’ Bash. Even before then, a friendship had been formed and since meeting her she has bought much support, advice and laughter into my life.

The second award “Champions Award’ was awarded to me by Sally Cronin of Smorgasbord – Variety Is The Spice Of Life. Like Suzie, Sally has become a wonderful friend since our blogging paths first crossed.  She has been a huge supporter of my work and re-blogs and shares my posts at any given opportunity. This has resulted in my writing being presented in front of a wider audience and is one of the factors why I believe I am on my way to running a successful blog.

The Champion Award is the concept of Seumas Gallacher, a highly successful indie author and blogger.  Although I went award free last year I simply could not ignore either of these two awards which have been awarded to me this week.  Thank you very much to both Suzie and Sally.

The Champions Award asks that I select at least five other champions. This was very difficult for me to do as there are so many authors, writers and bloggers who deserve this award. However, I have chosen seven who I would like to pass the award onto and have selected those I don’t think have been given this award yet.

  1. Ali Isaac – Ali Isaac Storyteller
  2. Ronovan Hester – Ronovan Writes
  3. Geoff Le Pard – TanGental
  4. Sue Vincent – Daily Echo
  5. Colleen Chesebro – Silver Threading
  6. Elizabeth at Tea And Paper
  7. Judy Martin at Edwina’s Episodes

I would have included so many more because, as far I am concerned, you are all winners.  I know that some of the above are, like me, award free, but I wanted to acknowledge just how very thankful I am for all their support and friendship.

Recipients, if you choose to accept and wish to propagate the CHAMPIONS AWARDS, please do the following:
1.Post the Award Sticker on your blog, with the hashtag #CHAMPIONSAWARDS
2.Acknowledge the sponsor of your Awards.
3.Choose at least five of your own nominees and advise them accordingly, attaching these 5 guidelines.
4.Keep it simple… no need for explanations for the Awards… we know how great these folks are.
5.You are free to give out these Awards as frequently as you wish.

Finally, thank you to everyone that continues to nominate Hugh’s Views And News for awards.  I am always very taken aback when I get nominated and can only say that without you all I would no longer be blogging.
