I Am Pleased To Announce That The ‘Walking On Sunshine’ Blog Party Has Now Officially Began

I’ve seen a lot of blog loving happening here on Planet Blog over the last few months, and I thought it about time I threw a party as well, and ask you all to help me spread some blog love this weekend.

Walking On Sunshine Blog PartyI’m going to kick this party off and hope that during the next three days bloggers from all over the world will join me and spread some blog love.

It’s very easy to join in and there is not much involved.  All you have to do is choose a fellow blogger and do what I am about to do below.

I’d like to introduce you to Sally Cronin.  Blog name: Smorgasbord – Variety is the spice of life.

Sally Cronin
Sally Cronin

I’ve only been following Sally’s blog for about a month, but she has bowled me over with the support she has given to me, fellow bloggers, and authors.

She re-blogs posts, gives out excellent health and wellbeing advice, interviews authors, promotes book reviews and tells really good jokes (especially parrot ones).  In fact, I am trying to persuade Sally to become a standup comedian and she’s promised that I can be her agent, if she goes ahead with my advice.

I’m spreading the blog love this weekend and am asking you to check out and follow her blog to introduce you and your blog to her, give her a big ‘hello’ and to start enjoying some of her already published posts, as well as those she has yet to publish.

Click the link below and it will take you straight to her “about me” page on her blog.

That’s it.  That is all you need to do.

1. Choose a fellow blogger who you think spreads blog love.

2. Write a short post about them.

3. Entitle your post Walking On Sunshine Blog Hop Party (so others can find your post).

4. Create a pingback to this post, so that the link appears in the comments section, so that other participants can read your post.  Click here for details on how to create a pingback.

5. If you are not sure how to create a pingback, then copy and paste the link to your post in the comments section below (so that other participants can read your post).

You can mention as many bloggers as you want in your post and write as much about them as you want, but try to not make your post too long.  You can also use my Walking On Sunshine Weekend photo in your post if you want to.

Enjoy the party everyone and keep spreading the blog love.

    1. Well I hope I can entice you to my next blog hop party, Judith. I’ll have to see what I can do.

I’ll be popping over to visit your blog today, just as soon as I have tucked into my Welsh Sunday breakfast. 🙂

  1. Hi,
A reader of mine just wrote a beautiful comment on how lucky he is to have the support of the blogging community, so I am giving him this link. His name, if he comes over, is Island Traveler.

    1. Hi Janice, no the party carried on for a good many days after it officially finished, but welcome to it.

I’ll be holding another blog hop party in the near future so look out for that one when I announce it on my blog. 🙂

      1. Following your blog. I can’t tell if I became an email follower or if it went into my word press reader. I want to be an email follower. I want to make sure I get apprised of your meet and greets and other posts. Thank you so very much for listing me as an inspirational blogger. I am so touched. I love the feeling of community that you and me and Sally have. It’s becoming one of my favorite things about blogging.

        1. You should get an email from WordPress every time I publish a new post, unless you have turned off the email notification. I published a new post yesterday called “Welcome to the Hotel of Change.” Did you get an email from WordPress notifying you of that post?

  2. Fabulous bloghop Hugh. I’m with the ‘late’ crowd here. Nonetheless, you picked the perfect blogger to blog about, Sally. I look forward to your next Hop. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Debby.

Yes I chose Sally, not only because she was a new blogger I had discovered but, because of in the short time I had got to know her and her blog I was overwhelmed with the support she gives so many authors, writers and bloggers. A very worthy first guest of mine.

I’ll be doing another blog hop party again, so I hope you will be able to join in the next one.

      1. I look forward to it. I know I missed the first one because I am severely behind in reading blog posts. It seems I can’t keep up after returning from vacay. I know many writers don’t get a chance to read blogs more than once or twice a week, so perhaps the next one you will give people like us a good heads up. 🙂

  3. “Walking on sunshine” is such a great song, thanks for the earworm! I love it when my music player plays it on rainy days. Oh irony, so amusing! Love this idea! But I’m so bad at choosing people lol. Let me know if my blog can ever be of service, though, I have an open wordpress policy!

    1. Thank you Claire. The morning I decided to hold a blog hop party I heard the song on the radio so it gave me the idea for the name of my blog hop.

Very kind offer from you, and thank you for the follow as well.

  4. Latins are always late to parties. It’s considered rude to be on time. Just in case the hostess is running behind. BUT …. I am really late. 😂
WHAT …???? No vino …. No Food !!! Well, if there’s music still playing I’ll stay and dance. I love to dance. 👠
Well, now, that I’m sitting after all that dancing. Thank you for hosting the party. Unfortunately or Fortunately, I shut my electronics down all weekend. The brain mind needs time to rest. I was invited by Elizabeth from Tea and Paper. She a doll and very sweet to have chosen me. 😍
I’ll be sure to get to the party a little earlier next time. I’m going to check out your chosen blogger and a few more.
    Isadora 😍

    1. Hi Isadora, thank you for dropping in to my blog hope party. Elizabeth did a wonderful introduction to you. Although the party officially ended on Sunday night, I still had guests arriving right up until Monday evening, so no worries about being late.

I hope you get to meet some other fun loving’ bloggers from the party. I’ll be organising another blog hop party in the coming months, so hopefully you can participate in that one and introduce us to some bloggers you follow.

Have a great week and I look forward to reading your posts.
      Best wishes,

  5. I’m also late – rats! I sallied forth into the mountains this weekend, and missed this wonderful tribute to my lovely Sally. Hope you do this again Hugh – what a fabulous idea. X

    1. I hope you had a wonderful time in the mountains, Jo? Did you happen, or were you tempted, to sing “The Hills Are Alive with the sound of Music”? 🙂

Yes, I’ve grown very fond of Sally over the weeks I have got to know her. She is so supportive and a wonderful lady to know. When she moves back to the UK she has promised to have afternoon tea with me 🙂

My blog hop seems to have been a big success judging from the number of people who turned up. I’ll certainly be organising another one in the not too distant future, so hopefully you can join that one.

  6. It was a wonderful idea, unfortunately, I was very busy last weekend, as I was packing to move out of my flat next weekend, so I wasn’t able to participate. I hope you will do it again in the future 🙂

    1. Thank you. Although it all officially ended yesterday I’ve still got guests arriving, but I will be organising another blog hop party in the not too distant future.

Good luck with the house move. I hope it all goes smoothly.

  7. I’m a bit late to this party… story of my life! No drinks, food all over the floor, and everyone gone home… no wait… is that Sue snoring gently in the corner??? Lol!

Hope you had a good time Hugh! 😀

    1. Hi Ali, I’ll be honest and say that I was overwhelmed with how many bloggers, writers, authors, artists and guests all turned up. In fact they are still turning up, so the blog hop and spreading the blog love continues until the last guest arrives and leaves (that could be Sue if she is still asleep in the corner).

Yes, it’s been a huge success, so much so that I’m thinking of doing another one soon.

      Have a great week.

  8. Reblogged this on Melissa Barker-Simpson and commented:
I love this idea, and I can’t resist the opportunity to share with you a few of my favourite blogs. I’m going to have to cheat slightly, and post the list tomorrow (the 23rd). I just came off a blog tour and so I’ll have to be fashionably late to this particular party 🙂

  9. Reblogged this on Thoughts by Mello-Elo and commented:
Join Hugh’s exciting ‘Wlaking On Sunshine Blog Party’ where you will get a chance to meet Sally Cronin from Smorgasboard – Variety Is the Spice Of Life. I am going through my favourite blogs as we speak and will be posting my blog hop contribution soon. Why don’t you take part in Hugh’s party and find a blogger that you enjoy following and spread the word about them.

    1. Thank you for the reblog, Eloise.

It’s been quite a party and it’s still going on. Looks like it may be extended for another few days 🙂 Lots of bloggers here and so many have got to know each others blogs.

      Let the party continue 🙂

  10. From Donna over at Yadadarcyyaga.com

I keep thinking there’s no way to narrow it down to do a post on just one blogger who spreads sunshine, one blogger makes me laugh everyday and has been pressing Like and RTing my blog since almost the beginning, Austin https://moviewriternyu.wordpress.com and
    of course, Kate https://didthatjusthappenblog.wordpress.com/ and
    Suzie http://suzie81speaks.com/ and
    Patty http://www.petitemagique.wordpress.com
    and Holley http://chasingdestino.com/ and
    Cher http://www.thechicagofiles.wordpress.com and
    Laura https://skinnyandsingle.wordpress.com/ and
    Mark http://pouringmyartout.com/ and
Hugh, Sally, Teagan, Felicity, Kat, Jan, Sue, John, Tom, Jed, Sacha, Ron, Cassidy, Annette, Ann, Joanne, Rob, Lisa, SourGirlOhio…ok, see, here’s the problem, too much wonderful, too many people spreading sunshine…I guess maybe I can go and do a post. 🙂 Thank you again, Hugh, for making this so tough. 😉
