  1. Look inside your heart and you will find,
a reason to change your mind.
The deepest secret it will know
If you see within it will show
What the truth is beneath your deepest sorrow!
Let us share together a new tomorrow.

Needless to say, I absolutely Loved this Haiku. You have inspired some poetry from me…. that just flowed out of my fingertips after reading this Haiku.

  2. Beautiful, beautiful poem, Hugh. Very touching and I bet you wrote this one straight from the heart. The truth? Sometimes the truth shocks or hurts, and it’s not easy to accept. But if we’re rational about it and learn to accept what we can’t change, we learn to move on.

That’s a very nice photo there. Goes very well with the haiku 🙂

    1. Thank you, Mabel. It was when I saw that picture in my photo album on my computer that the words came to me. When writing a haiku I usually have to rearrange the words or delete or add some to make it a true haiku, but this one just came out like that, so no alterations.

      1. It’s funny how the things we see inspires us to be creative and create, be it write, draw, paint, make music and so on. “…rearrange words…” That happens to me all the time with writing – I’ll draft a blog post and then later decide that this paragraph should go here instead, or there. It can be frustrating.

I hope you have more of these “true haiku” moments. Positive energy 🙂

      2. Thanks Mabel. Like you, I spend lots of time on my longer posts rewriting, arranging, deleting, and so on. I will usually sleep on a draft post and come back to it the next day, read it and then start to alter it. It works for me and I always end up happier with the end result.

  3. I should say something just because everyone else is gushing over it. I swear, three little lines and an image and Hugh is suddenly like Cyrano or something. Hrmph. I am going back to bed and working on the Rewind tomorrow.

    1. Thanks, Ronovan. This haiku of mine seems to have made it to many readers hearts this time. I’ve no idea why, but I’m so very pleased that people seem to like this one. And thanks to you for giving me the courage to start writing haikus all those months ago 🙂
