Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge – Metal or the Season of Autumn

This week’s Fun Foto Challenge from Cee is Metal or the Season of Autumn.

Autumn is my favourite season of the year and I could not let this challenge from Cee go, without participating in it.

These first two pictures were taken during the first week of Autumn last year, when out walking our dog, Toby.  The path was once an old railway line and starts in the little village of Llanfoist, near Abergavenny in South Wales.

The last picture was taken at dusk on the last official day of Autumn last year here in the UK.

    1. I only use my iPhone 4 for photos. I may upgrade to the iPhone 6 if it comes out in September, but its not been officially confirmed by Apple as yet. I’m a bit ‘Apple’ mad. They’d love me in their Marketing department.

      1. I’ll be upgrading as well in September from 5 to 6. Hugh you’ve encourage me to use my phone! I didn’t know I could get the good results as you have.

      2. You may be lucky in the States and get the 6 before us here in the UK. When I first started taking pictures on my iPhone 4, I was amazed with the results and, of course, it’s easy to carry and I usually have it on me at that perfect picture taking moment. Give it a go Meredith and share them on your blog with us.

    1. Click the widget button which is the lefthand button just above my picture on my blog. You’ll be taken to a treasure trove of information about me and my blog after clicking that button. Once in, the follow button for email is at the top of the 4th column. Let me know if you have any problems finding it and I’ll do my best to get you signed up.

    1. Thank you, Charlie. Sorry to make you a little homesick. Where exactly is home at the moment then? We were in Weymouth in June, only for a day, but my mother & father always took us there every year for our summer holidays back in the late 1960’s and early 70’s. The seafront had not changed very much in all those years and I even found the hotel we stayed in, although sadly now it has become some rather nice flats/apartments.

      1. Home is Exeter now, its a much nicer place to live, although nowhere near as scenic… I miss the beach, drinking cider by the harbour side, and the view coming over the Ridgeway coming into Weymouth the most… I might have to pop down for a weekend soon I reckon…

  1. Your road photos are charming. I don’t want it to be autumn yet, but I admit that there is something enchanting about leaf covered paths and dappled sunlight.

    1. Yes, fortunately we have had some clear skies, so have had great views, but what I can’t believe is that I have not taken any pictures of it! I may have a go tonight but knowing my luck it will be cloudy! Not long to go before Spring comes your way, Maria. Our summer seems to be going super fast, has your winter felt like that?

  2. I took some photos of the moon at the beach last night. It was a lovely bronze colour which didn’t come out in my shots. I have a point and shoot digital camera. A few people were lined up with tripods waiting for the moonrise.

Yes we have had a fairly warm winter. Looking forward to spring and the longer hours of daylight.

  3. Hugh, Autumn is my favorite season of the year too. Though here in the States where I am, we still have another 4-6 weeks before the leaves will begin to change and the weather really cool off. So I enjoyed walking down your road today, as it’s going to be in the mid-80s here 🙂
