Containers – The WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge

The word for this week’s WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge is “Containers”.

These photo’s were taken on a recent trip to the Cotswolds.  I could not resist purchasing a few of these containers with their mouth-watering delights.

I also captured this Bee entering the Nectar container contained within this flower in our garden.

    1. Thanks, Claudette. If anyone had told me this time last year that I would be taking photos and getting interested in photography, I would have laughed at them. I’m really enjoying seeking out unusual picture taking opportunities.

      1. Weird how the enthusiasm ebbs and wanes for different things. I’m trying to make the effort to write something a bit more upbeat than how I am actually feeling, in the hopes that the nonsense words will make me smile more often. Sometimes it even works 🙂

      2. Yes, it is. I’ve hit a bit of a wall with the writing recently (hence why I have posted more posts to do with the photo challenge) but a photo I saw on here yesterday has inspired me to write a new short story. I’m working on it right now and am certainly going to check out more photos to see if they get the writing brain on full speed again.

  1. Those jams are so colourful. So many choices, I think you were spoilt for choice. I hope that the jams you bought tasted good? That bee looks hungry, and a bit fuzzy too. Cute 🙂

      1. Lemon curd! That’s one of my favourite flavours. I love it when it’s not too sour…some lemon curd cakes I’ve had taste way too sour. Glad to hear the jams were bang for your buck. I’m sure you’ll be able to make tarts with them, or maybe put them on toast or biscuits.

      2. I love adding spreads to warm buttered toast. Anything goes really. I’ve yet to try Lemon Curd with that, but I”ll take your word for it. Pudding…now you’ve got me hungry for sweets 😀

  2. Love the photo of the colourful preserves. Your bees look a little different from ours. Great shot of the bee – isn’t it fun trying to capture one on a flower? Some of the those preserves I have never heard of -Piccalilli sounds interesting.

I love lemon curd on pancakes or toast – yum! 🙂

    1. Piccalilli is a spicy pickle made with vegetables, Maria. It’s usually put inside a sandwich with something like ham. It can make the eyes water if too spicy but there are some milder forms. We can also buy sweet piccalilli over here which is not as spicy. Get any on your clothes, and that’s it I’m afraid. Not even the toughest of detergents seem to be able to shift it. Lemon curd is my favourite 🙂
